Bushmaster® QRC$749-$150=?

At that price point I imagine the red dot will break after 3 mags of use. Still though, it's not a bad deal.

Hell I remember paying a little under a g note for my Norinco M4gery when they first started coming in country back in the day.

RP9 handgun for $380 after rebate. If you buy a cheapo $350 pump shotgun you are into 3 gun for a total of <$1350...

That's a heck of a deal.

SFRC was blowing the RP9 out at $329 or something just a few weeks ago...free shipping too.

I almost bought one, but at that price I figured it had to be a POS lol

I just ordered the Bushmaster. The rebate is a Canadian rebate so you're getting a complete ar with red dot for about $698 after everything's said and done (Ontario).

Better than the M&P15 deal from a few months back.

yeah but the mp15 2 is a beter AR isnt it? MrGunsandgear and other reviews have said the mp15 is a top budget AR. Ive been trying to find reviews on the bushmaster QRC and have barely found anything.

The reason I say this is because I was looking to get the QRC. Since its bushmaster I assume its milspec parts, but maybe not since its an entry level AR. I also dont like that I cant run back up sights and would have to get a free float installed to alleviate that issue. Also the mp15 comes with magpul flip ups. MP15 also has lifetime warranty, one of the best in the business.

Yah... I don't know much about ARs, not really my thing but on the surface it looks like a good deal but a couple of my friends pointed out that the Bushmaster deals has enough going against it that ponying up a few more dollars for a better rifle might be a better way to go. Namely, there are no back up sights and more specifically no real way of putting on a front sight so automatically you will have to spend money on optics. 2, the barrel is thin so if you want to put rounds down range or run it hard in 3 gun then you might have to spend some coin on a thicker barrel and lastly there are no key mods or a way of mounting any sort of front rail. I have never been an accessory guy but I have noticed that those of my friends who are just getting into 3 gun like the flexibility of attaching stuff. Cameras seem to be becoming a thing for the weekend worriors. Anyways, handguard gets swopped out so it is even more money. The way my friend puts it, add $200 for optics or backup, $300 for barrel and $400 for handguard, you might as well get a better AR.

I have another friend (sorry Jerry. lol) that benches his AR which is what the Bushmaster seems to lend itself to but I don't really see the point in that if you are shooting slow and trying to practice the fundamentals of marksmanship. That could be better accomplished with a bolt action. Maybe I am questioning the Bushmaster, because my S&W AR15 was almost $200 more after Bushmaster's rebate (i am a cheap sob) but then again i run the S&W with the factory irons and it has a half decent barrel but then again the last time i was at a 3 guns event i ran my son's cx4 because of the 96 mags and yes the mec gar runs in both without mods.

Be wary that Cabelas will try to hose you for a locking gun case and lock. So the price in reality could be at lleast 50$ more

This package already comes with a 3 MOA red dot and riser. So you've already got a decent target aquisition sysytem on the rifle. You're gonna need to do upgrades if you aren't a beginner and either of the two platforms are a good starting point.
In regards to the lock and case point, they added a $7.99 lock to the order but that can be easily returned so the final price comes out to $698 after taxes and rebate in Ontario.

Should a beginner not start with iron sights which allow them to practice the fundamentals of marksmanship? I am not knocking red dots, they are great but...

they should, but show me another AR that comes in at under $700 after taxes.

I guess if you're a beginner and have the money then there are way better options, if you're a beginner and are just looking for a basic entry level rifle, this deal can't be beat.

I grabbed an Ilion (Remington) NM 20" a few years ago for $1000 (nostalgia reason) and it's been great, fit and finish was excellent, shoots great, no issues what so ever.

sounds like a really good deal; taxes in at $630 when all is said and done!
