Yup, companies these days have no idea what their doing. HK builds terrible rifles with it, the Tavor is a piece of crap because of it, the SCAR is terrible, along with all the other polymer rifles out there, if only they used aluminum and steel they could be the best battle rifles ever made, oh wait, they might actually be.
As for the damage from the rivet in a magazine... ever heard of a file? Every magazine I have gets tried in every compatible rifle I own and the rivet is filed down till it doesn't interfere with the magwell. A couple minutes of work and no more problems.
