I just ordered a Swarovski z3. 3 to 10 by 42 with the 4a reticle. I am putting on on my 7mm rem Mag. The rifle is a Sako 85. Are there any other options for lightweight scope mounts than the Leupold ring mounts. I'm thinking tallies but I don't see them having the lightweight mounts for this rifle

Sako's optilock bases an rings are great....... not sure where they fit in the light weight realm but are of great quality. I own two sako 85s and both have the optilock bases and rings

Talley lightweight.

Have them on my Tikka and A bolt slug gun love it.

Prophet River carries them and special ordered a set of extra low in silver for my SS Tika

I received my Swarovski scope yesterday from Prophet River Superfast recommend them.

I was going to use the Sako optilock one piece ring mounts but I cannot use them because the z3 scope has a shorter tube then my vx3 Leupold I then use my Leupold one-piece ring mounts medium and they are too short and the scope touches the barrel.

If I go with the two piece Sako optilock mounts I will need long bases and what height of rings would you recommend I think I want to be as low as possible without touching

I have that exact scope on my Sako 85 Kodiak 375 H&H in Sako Ringmounts, and it works fine. No issue with tube length.

I used Burris bases and Leupold rings on my Sako 85. The Burris bases allowed me to use the Leupold extension rings to obtain the proper eye relief with the 3-10 Z-3

I ended up knocking the PIN out of my sako optilock ring mounts. This allows the rear mount to slide further forward on the dovetail. Now I can mount the scope property. My question is will this give me any problems because I remove the PIN. I don't believe there will be a problem because the Leupold ring mounts don't have the PIN

Can you post some pictures of what the mounts look like on your sako 85
