Campro vs Frontier vs Berry's in open gun. UPDATE : Final Test Results are Complete.

Campro hasn't had the quality issues that people talk about for at least 5 years now; but they were there in the past. The only quality issue I have run into with them is I have pulled bullets at chrono that are more than 2gr below what they should have been.

Humm, yes and no; a few month ago I got .357 projectiles that went as high as .365, crushing cases and making reload a headache until I figured out what was wrong. On the plus side, once I contacted them, they promptly shipped 2k for free.
Their 124gr 9mm RN consistently weight ~123gr, just something to keep in mind.
That said, I will keep buying from them without hesitation.

wow that much oversize? that isn't good. But at least they handled it.
Yea they do tend towards under than over weight that is for sure. I wouldn't trust the 121gr bullets to keep me in major if I was shooting open.

I don't want to put down competitors bullets but there was a reason I started importing frontier bullets and that's because IMHO they are the best quality plated bullets I know. The consistency of weight and size are top notch. I've recently partnered my frontier bullet business with Double Tap Sports. Josko there is a great person whose been shooting ipsc for many years and therefore very experienced. Double tap sports is a forum sponsor and able to distribute the Frontier bullets across Canada if demand is there. The 9mm RN 124gr match grade bullets have a very thick copper plating of about 13 thousands per side. It's the only plated bullets I recommend for open velocities. If you're interested in trying these please contact Double tap sports. Thanks.

Would you be willing to send me 20 of these bullets so I can compare them to the others mentioned ? I now have some Berry's TP bullets to try. Due to the little snow dump we had, I put testing off until tomorrow. It will be interesting to see if the much colder weather affect the Power Factor much. Good to know for the early spring matches.

Price per 500 Frontier is what I pay for 1000 Campro's now (either $95 or $97 depending on vendor in the west). Double Tap shipping calculator is not working yet.
Would like to try 500 of these but not at double the price. I reload to save money/shoot more, not pay more than factory ammo.

Sorry but you must be reading it wrong. The price for the standard frontier 9mm 124gr are $97.13/1000. The match grade which are for open guns is $104.60/1000.

Yes I could send you some to try so long as you post your findings. PM me your info. Thanks.

The drop down (for 500 units) says 97.13
For 1000 units it says 194.26

Their website needs work. I tried with both Firefox and IE

Reading the description they are available in 1000 and 2000 pieces, so the *Projectile Quantity: drop down needs to be changed from 500> 1000 and 1000> 2000 then the prices will be correct.

If they are $97 for 1000 then I'll definitely try 1000

I'll mention it to Josko. Thanks for the info.

Nope - plinking FWIW you can also mention to Josko his website price for 500 units .45 Frontier is also same as his price for 1000 units I'm guessing it should be $78.45 for 500??
It has been changed on the website. Sorry for the inconvenience, we are in the process of transitioning to a new website, as this one is dated. Thanks for bringing it to our attention, we will do our best to keep on top of any issues. If you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to email or call us! Thanks, DoubleTap Admin

I also received the email quote for shipping from you this morning, thank you.

carsmovies - shipping heavy weight like this half way across Canada is a killer. Any interest from any west coast dealers to take on this product line as well?

I'll most likely order 1000 from DoubleTap to try them out but I can get twice the amount (weight-wise) from the west coast for less than the shipping cost of 1000 projectiles from Ontario.
Not the dealer fault, just the way it is for shipping......

We are prepared to wholesale to retailers out west. May I suggest you contact stores you like purchasing from and ask them to contact double tap for setting something up.

Campro all they way!!!!
Never disappoint me in the past, plus Campro is available at a very good price.
Not to mention, it gets all the As. Ha ha
