Shortes Lever Action Rifle Avaiable in Canada other than the Mare's Leg

Wanstall's list some compact levers (including Henry) Although not currently in stock, the Chiappa Alaskan Takedown is avail. with a 12" barrel in .44 Mag. (and 45-70 :eek:). I think the twist is 1:20 so it should stabilize heavier bullets.
 
I really like my Rossi RH in 45 Colt with the full length stock. I did need to clean up the internals some but it functions flawlessly now. I carry it when I walk the dogs at night thus the flashlight and red dot.

I like the side loading of the RH over the Henry's tube design but I think I liked the price even more. It carries perfectly with a single point sling attached to the saddle ring attachment loop with the saddle ring removed.

I also cut down the lever loop a bit.

255gr hard cast from Lee mold, 252gr actual weight, in front of 13.5gr of Ramshot Silhouette for 1800fps.

It's spectacular on water filled milk bottles and did the job very well on an injured deer I had to put down.

I've launched my loading tube down range a couple of times so I have to agree about loading the Henry.

Nothing about the Henry did anything for me, especially the goofy tube feed system.

Is that one of those magnetic stock additions? Or do you hold it on with the leather cuff?

1/4 turn locking cam. Mostly a 14 round shell holder. Been asked to make more but never have time.

What is involved with "Cleaning up the Internals?"

I gently sanded down my locking bars, and feed gate to make things function more smoothly.

And that locking can is very interesting. I've been trying to think up a way to add a piece of 2x4 to make a shoulder stock
