Who s hunting with the classics this season

I am using classic cartridges in a new take of an old platform... these are all sighted in and ready to go...

Top to bottom: Ruger M77 MKII .257 Roberts, 6.5X55, and 7X57.

Ruger 77 MKII 300 win mag stainless 'all-weather' with black synthetic zytel stock (timney trigger installed to replace the fence post factory trigger it came with).
No photos since photobucket went apesh!t.
Leupold vxII 3-9x40mm scope.

Not sure if I can get any serious hunting in this year or not by the looks of it but it would be with a tastefully sportered 11mm Model 71 Mauser single shot.

Franchi over/under built in 1967 dad bought it with his father and his brothers in Italy and it came back on carry on luggage
this one has two triggers and looks good

HVA '98 in 8x57 with a 4x Japanese Tasco.

I want to ensure a kill during hunting season , the old stuff stays home, or has long since been replace for reliability.

Clearly never owned any quality old stuff to make a comment like that. Then again you may have to use that big bad LEAD in your old firearms which is scary for you
Cheers

You should tell that to the deer I just ate for dinner. It sure didn't like getting popped with the old stuff. Her fault for trying to rob the stagecoach.

Nice . I had the same rifle with an old K4 Weaver on it , but gave it to a young friend of mine for his first hunting rifle , no surprise , he loves it . I may have to spend some money on another , a very useful rig .

I wonder what it would cost a manufacturer today to replicate such a fine rifle? I'm sure several thousand dollar retail value.
