Victoria gun show

I always note its in the fall and check in with Pullens shop to see when it is. Recently moved back here to BC and specifically looked for it. I blame it for my interest in Mausers. Sadly I missed it this year due to my stupid planning ability and certainly plan to catch it next year.

For the last couple of years it has been the last (full) weekend (Sat/Sun) in October...... start planning... :)

We are considering adding a second building next year. The issue is we don't quite have enough vendors to justify the extra cost. It doubles our expenses. We are looking into it though!

Perhaps the displays could be relocated in the empty room at the main entrance to leave the main floor open to new vendors... It is a fairly big room that could surely accommodate all the static displays... Just a thought.

No disrespect, but if every table was a display table, it wouldn't be a gun show, it would be a museum. Most people aren't going (paying) to see the (same) display tables. Make room for others (retail or private) to sell to those of us wishing to purchase...heard others mention this was the worst show to date

having sales tables and displays at every Victoria show I would like to put in my thoughts:

Prefer fall to spring. We already have Chilliwack and Calgary in spring.

Don't want display tables in a separate room. I want to be able to keep my eye on my display, answer questions etc. I would like to see display prizes given only once to each display. If the same display wins several prizes there is no incentive to developing new displays.

I would vote for more space and adding additional features e.g. inviting Western Command military vehicles, local military modelers etc.

I think more could be done with advertizing and perhaps consideration to a shuttle bus to the ferry terminal. Might get more mainland visitors if they could walk on ferry instead of driving

Sunday is usually pretty dead. May want to consider opening show Friday evening for a collectors premium and the Saturday. If it is thought necessary to open Sunday to attract dealers then definitely need more advertizing and an additional draw such as military vehicles

Otherwise WELL DONE. Enjoy it every year!!!!

I went both days. I noticed a few people had many tables. One guy had four or five tables of old ammo and books. Others sellers hardly bothered to show up Sunday. There were many empty tables by noon of the second day.
Maybe the organizers should consider limiting the amount of tables people can rent so some modern vendors can attend.
I do love the displays and take the time to have a good look every year. As someone else posted, the front room could become a awesome display allowing for a number of additional tables.
REGARDLESS, thanks to all those who organize it. It's a great show and there are many people involved.

I agree with you but what I was trying to get at was that there were at least 20+ tables with displays in the main floor area of this show and the front room at the entrance was not in use (empty)... If those display tables (from the club that put this on I believe) would have been relocated in that room, more vendors could have been there. Not sure about the worst show to date (every person has a different opinion) as last year was not as well attended as this one mostly due to weather.
