Should get to measuring them in the Canadian manner - if Mikethebikes Noveske 18” barrel is long enough to be Canadian NR - what else is?

Don’t forget to use a bolt without the firing pin.

Lol if you're getting THAT anal about it, what method are you using to actually measure the depth? Tape measure and a stick ain't gonna cut it if you're worried about the firing pin.

Unless your barrel is specifically marked as being over 470mm or you take it to an approved verifier, you are potentially playing with fire. Measuring your barrel That's advertised as 18" and claiming its longer than that is only speculation unless its taken to an approved verifier who is certified and trained to state otherwise

I believe the RCMP approved method is to insert a dowel rod down the barrel to the bolt face. So yeah. Tape measure and a stick is the method. How do you want them to do it - laser range finder?

Given that a member on here just discovered that his barrel is entirely legal for a NR build, I’d say it’d be worth dealers checking.

Lol there are many more accurate depth measurement devices than tape measures that don't involve lasers. I use them daily as a machinist.

The new macobe defense (or whatever its exactly called) who recently got an NR FRT for a new rifle that takes AR parts and barrels etc....they stated that they will be selling receiver sets for 1000 bones. So essentially build your own NR "AR15 STYLE" rifle

Ahhhh I saw mention of that platform earlier today, but didn't know the significance of it (didn't know it was NR, assumed it was an AR when I saw a pic)

Yes, but if I can't get a clear yes/no answer from a dowel and tape measure, then I wouldn't want to use that particular barrel, sounds like a recipe for a headache if a cop ever questions the legality of it, regardless of whether it's long enough or not.
