Can you adjust the trigger on an X-Bolt?

You can completely remove the adjustment screw. One of mine went to 3 pounds the other to 3.5. I see they have a lighter version of this trigger on the x bolt in Europe.

The bolt trigger feels harder than it measures. I believe this is due to the lack of aftertravel. Great big game hunting triggers. Could be lighter for varminting or target in my opinion.

You can remove the screw completely because the trigger return spring is captured in the housing... the adjustment screw just makes it heavier. If you want it lighter that spring needs to be removed and replaced with a lighter spring.

Thanks everyone. Got them both adjusted. Wish they would go a titch lighter, but they're certainly acceptable as a hunting trigger. I'm impressed with these x-Bolts, one is the synthetic stalker and the other is the Carbon Fiber Stainless Fluted. The detachable mags work excellent, they feed well, they suck up the recoil well, they're well balanced and they are accurate all the different ammo I tried. A buddy of mine has one in the Stainless Stalker 270 WSM which I shot quite a bit working up some loads for him and it was very accurate as well. Too bad I'm so fond of my Model 700 Blued synthetic mountain rife in 280rem, it's a shame to leave them sitting at home for the White-Tail opener tomorrow, but you can only take one!
