Not sure what you mean. I've bought 8lb kegs from Higginson and they were shipped in their original container.

Yeah what's up with that. I have bought numerous 8lb kegs in the past from them. My last order showed up in a plastic bag inside a cardboard box.

Its nothing new. Its just if its re packaged from bulk. Just keep your old containers. I would rather save cash and keep my powder in a tupperware.

Well my order this Fall of HS6, Varget, H4895, and CFE 223 in various 1-8 pound part numbers all came in plastic bags. So I am guessing they changed their ways since you last ordered.

definitely different from any other powder I've smelled after firing

It contains ammonia. That is the "Copper Fouling Eliminating" part of the CFE designation.
