ATRS MV-S “Sporter” - Stripped “AR” Non-Restricted Reciever

Let’s keep details separate and post the MV-S details and discussion here.

Doesn’t need to be a comparison, but another option for the CDN market.

We've been asking for this from them for a while now, and they have flat out refused to do it until someone else comes along to release a receiver only set. I won't be giving AT my money.

Yup. Feeling the heat of competition being applied to the soles of their feet.

The only way things could be better for the Canadian black rifle owner would be if the dollar was at par. I wonder when BCL will start the teasing about their new rifle? After the release of the next 102 batch I guess.

Cool, gotta love competition. My understanding is Macdef accepts regular ar barrels, is it the same with this new ATRS mv-S? Also when will be available?

I'm now leaning towards the Alberta Tactical version.
I like that it will accept AR drop in triggers and regular takedown pins.

This pic was posted in another thread about MacDef but I sooooo want to build this out of a NR ATRS receiver set if and when it becomes available.

I really hope ATRS succeeds with approval. I want, I want, I want!!!!!

Lets at least try to stick with actual facts ok? And try to clarify things.
With our MV and MH rifles a stripped upper is useless due to all of the proprietary charge handle parts, so short of no barrel and hand guard the upper CANNOT be called stripped. So this was never in the offering and can't be for very obvious reasons.
As for the lowers again in a stripped form they are useless for the same reasons.

Couple that with the FACT that our insurance carrier has stipulated that if we sell these PROPRIETARY designed rifles we will be in breech of our agreement with the insurance company due to the fact that these 2 rifles are PROPRIETARY. Hence can only be sold as function tested complete rifles. People seem very quick to ignore or forget that despite our MH and MV looking like and AR and sharing SOME commonality, they are NOT an AR in many respects.

The new project has literally no proprietary parts involved except for the geometry and design of the upper and lower. This is NO custom fitting of any parts required, literally every part of the LPK is out of the box milspec parts, thereby releasing us from the complete proprietary rifle thing.

Yes the new ATRS rifle will accept standard AR barrels.
Being as we are still in the alpha testing stages and have not submitted a sample to the SFSS/RCMP, no firm date for availability is available. Having been highly criticized in the past for suggesting a date has taught me not to predict the unpredictable. Obviously we are hoping it won't take years as the MH project took, hoping for a timeline similar to the MV which was only a couple of months due to it being a variant of the MH.

Could have said something was in the works on a new model and stripped upper and lowers in the past when questions were asked even just a few days ago.

Seems like only threat of competition taking market share has forced the design of the MV-S........

Apparently you have not been reading all the threads. Someone posted that they had info we have been working on this since last spring, which is the truth. We have just released the news.

That's the beauty of competition. And you say it like it's a bad thing.

Competition is great, not sure how you read my post differently.

I will buy whoever brings the upper and lower to market first, by that I mean first manufacturer to have product available to purchase off a retailers shelf.

Not interested in pre-orders or waiting half a year or more for my order to be filled only to wait again to have it completed in 30RAR

I don't need to, I asked only a few days ago about purchasing and incomplete rifle and told no by yourself, now here it is coming available. I know it wasn't me that forced your hand to reveal this to the public.

You asked about a MV, which we still won't sell as stripped uppers and lowers. That has not changed along with the fact we still won't offer a 30RAR that you have been griping about for some time now.

I can pretty much assure you that we will not be the first out of the gate as we have not sent out a rifle yet for classification. We prefer to test thoroughly, then get the FRT.

The competition is good, I'm sure there will be pros and cons to each on actual production runs. These are great developments, that I never thought would have been done, but also don't know what took so long.

The only thing I think we're missing after this is a Canadian made collet qd design for barrels, like the leo takedown, or dolos etc...
