Type 81 Owners Corner !

Dumping these at a lower price right now seems a little premature and suspect wives are somewhat involved after they found the papers for the 35% csc tucked in behind the crate of chef boyardee ravioli.

Wow, very disappointing to see that they used a fkn sleeve over the barrel. Corrosion between the barrel and sleeve will end up being a b*tch if using corrosive ammo over time as it will be pretty near impossible to clean and rinse everything away. :bangHead:

Colt Canada uses sleeves on their C8 SFW, I don't think you will have a issue in your life time.

Oh, I didn't realize they run corrosive 5.56 ammo through the C8 SFW's...

I still think it is going to be a problem on the Type 81 with corrosive ammo but hey that's my opinion, time will tell

If these are indeed from the same production run as the mil order we should be fine.. Considering mil will all be using corrosive.

I personally like the looks of the GL, nice and beefy.

As oppose to the vz58 nr long and skinny barrel. Yuck.

No but the PLA have been using it for almost 40yrs in tropical weather, so am not overly worried.

That's a big if... big possibility the actual military versions don't use a barrel sleeve.

if the military has their GL in one piece, it will prevent the gas block from sliding down the barrel so I think they too have sleeves.
