Type 81 Owners Corner !

As far as barrel alignment is concerned, 3-4 rifles were legitimately out of specification, the rest can be attributed to parallax/optical illusion, buyer's remorse and handguard alignment.

I couldn't agree with TI more, I knew this was the case, Id say less then 1% of the 1000 rifles are truly defective, thats called par for the course with new rifles stamped on sheet metal presses with old world standards....These are on spec with the Norinco/Poly AK's in the states!!! Loving the 81 and amazed that TI was ever able to get them in Canadastan

Spent the afternoon "customizing" my T-81. As in carving and sanding away bits of plastic wishing I had a dremel. Took me roughly 3 hours to fit the hand guard and grip, and about an hour to wrap the stock with paracord, it's my first attempt ever.

I will be doing something with the upper wood piece of the the handguard, probably giving it a light sand and painting it black (magpul one that came with the MOE is too short.)

The screw for the wood grip was brutal on mine, it had way too much lock tight on it, and stripped before budging and had to be drilled out. Other then that though there are no permanent modifications to this rifle.

im really tempted to try and modify my fixed project t81 to take an ak underfolder but i like the look of the folding stocks withe the panels taken off
