Seems to be the way they are making guns now
Actually it is the FN way of making guns - the king of making low cost guns. FN came up with this first, inspired by HK G3/MP5 back over 15 years during the SCAR time. Aluminum extraction tube + plastic trigger group. If you are fancier you get an aluminium trigger group.
Saying that, the SIG MCX is a very nice "special weapon" There is no way you can beat a SIG MCX in the 9" and under format in special applications. But for mass issue to a big army, the HK gas and bolt systems are simpler.
Anyways, god forbid Rheinmetall wins with that AUGish AR abomination - there is no choice but HK here.
Which if you live in Poland isn't always a bad thing.........
