Type 81 Owners Corner !

You guys have too much fun without me, ohhh ill be able to go shooting in maybe 13 years.

We’ll do wheel chair races then with mounted .22 Cooeys and pinned 5rd mags!
Since you obviously don't like it, I'll take it off your hands.... I expect a deep discount, though, given the dent in the lower handguard ;)

Thanks for bringing it out today to let us try it out. I actually had no intention of buying one of these, but to my surprise I really liked it.

The bolt could use some smoothing but I agree it’s not a bad rifle. How was dinner?

Handled one yesterday (didn't fire it).

Liked it a bit better than thought I would, however ....

The tiny sling mounts are cheesy and the 180* safety must be for people with 6" thumbs that bend in several directions at the same time. That folder looks hideous.

When all is taken into account, no way it's worth a grand imo and don't see what all the excitement is about. Not for me.

I'll stick with a couple laminate 54' Izzy SKS's for surplus x39's.

Each to their own I guess.

I can and accept anything I shoot. However the first comments I made to DILLI were how small the pistol grip and the stock were...and I have small hands!
Together with the 180 safety, the gun is awkward for me.
I do like the looks of it esp. the ribbed barrel shroud thingy and it shoots fine for a CommBloc rifle. The AK mag changes are cool. Never done that before till now.

sigh
yep too mch fun
I on the other hand went to disney on ice
And a bird pooped on my jacket

Yeah my Saturday’s involve a lot less shooting and a lot more exercise. Lol I have 2 guns right now I still haven’t shot and the only hunting I’ve done is one morning of goose hunting.

Enjoy the time with the little ones fella's, they grow up quick! Only bonus to that is when they all have part time jobs it leaves you more $$ for guns and ammo!lol:cheers:

Still alive cut the video to short, I actually said, " Thats all you can do when TI only ships you 2 ####ing mags "...lol...

Those were my first 10 rounds ever thru it, did a pretty good job running it for the first time. Now it goes to the back of the safe with all the other useless X39 rifles I have.

I got all 10 of my mags and I ordered late and I got them only a few days ago

Thats fine for bench shooting. But when you are running around doing drills with other people you need it

I haven't got my T81 (if I EVER get one the way TI has been behaving???), so forgive the question... but... On a real T81, the safety is just like an AR with 180 degrees of arc. The difference is that the middle position is semi on an AR, while on these T81's, I assume there is no middle position and they have put "fire" where "full auto" would normally go.

Does the selector stop in the middle position at all? If you set it there (presumably with no detent?), will the gun fire, or is it still on safe?

I'm of the mind - having not seen one - that a safety can be machined that will only have 90 degrees of swing, assuming the safety is even removable on a T81?

This is the least surprising thing I've read in a while. TI said this would never happen, so I just assumed it would happen a lot. I generally have come to expect the exact opposite of everything they have to say about the Type 81.

It's like watching 2008 news clips of everything Barak Obama was saying about the affordable care act.
