TYPE 81 folding stock more pictures (DAY 6 Update "a bent rifle")

Well TI Locked the official “bent” thread, claiming only one rifle has been reported defective. We know that’s not true.. I really think we need to start a SN # thread so these rifles don’t get recycled. Until today I would have said different but I wouldn’t put it past them reselling these rifles.

These rifles issues are quickly adding up and approaching t97 level.

Glad I held back, see what generation 2 brings or another vendor

Gen 2? This rifle is more than 35 years old.
How many rifles actually have problems? The biggest problem is that people are still waiting for their rifle. Once they're all delivered we'll have a better idea and also see what TI is going to do for the guys that have issues. If the bad rifles are replaced it's not terrible, so far it seems like most are a pretty solid rifle and like any Norc/Poly there is always a dud or two mixed here and there.
Bring in 1000 units then piss everyone off with slow shipping and poor communication and the problems of a few turn into the problems of many as things snowball. If you buy a rifle made in China and expect top quality and craftsmanship you may need to rethink things. As long as TI replaces any problem units in a timely manner there really isn't much to worry about.
On the other hand, if they handle customer problems like they're handling the communication about the shipping we may be in trouble. Doesn't sound like that's going to be a problem though.

If you're close to Edmonton PM me and we can try to arrange a time for you to come out to my place to shoot my fixed stock rifle. Pretty sure you won't be on the fence after shooting it. Not the most accurate rifle (I suck with this style of irons) but it's reliable and is soft shooting.

Fair.. if they are on hand to replace (let’s hope they were smart enough to keep more then a few of each for issues) on this order. If they start telling people they will have to wait till q1 to get a replacement, then there will be uproar.

Im not sure if my eyes are playing tricks on me but it looks like the buttstock for sure is a little bent. What do you guys think?

It could simply be the stock is warped or poorly cut. Either way, it would be going back to the sender if it were mine.

right handed version ...

Well, if nothing else it is truly interesting to watch a new generation of Canadian shooter become acquainted with Norinco firearms quality. So much for a cheap(er), reliable 7.62x39mm "bullet hose" if you happen to get one with "special" features such as a bent receiver, Hand-Dremelled bolt, etc. I hope for everyone's sake that TI ordered enough of an overage to cover all of the defective rifles. Not something I'd want to have to worry about on top of getting an out-of-spec unit in the first place. I feel bad for the fellow that received 2 bent rifles, one of each style. Not even a 50% success rate for that buyer! Ouch!!.
