BCL 18.6” AR Barrels, who wants them?

With the release of the "new non-restricted" AR platform, alot of people will want 5.56 or .223 Wylde chambers at 18.6" lengths.

Please consider producing them with intermediate length gas ports. This gas system length is ideal for the barrel length and adds the appropriate dwell time to the system, which aids in reliable case extraction and bolt cycling.

Glad to hear that! I have to send my 12.5" barrel back to them to have it corrected or replaced. It closed on not only a no go gauge but also a Field gauge (proper 5.56 gauge) It rips brass apart usually on the first or second loading.

I think they finally have, I just got my 14.5" & 18" barrels barrels replaced (for the second time) and these ones are nice and tight and the accuracy with heavy bullets is very impressive. My new barrels are the standard NEA mid-heavy profile with the spiral fluting, its not very deep and only aft of the gas block so it doesn't do much other than aesthetics. I think something like the deep straight flutes like whats on the Maple Ridge barrels would be awesome on the NEA barrel profile as long as its done on both ends of the barrel.

Ideally I would like to see NEA change to a rifle length gas system for the 18/18.6" barrels as the mid-length is severely over-gasses and often rips case heads with heavy 5.56 loads. An H3 buffer helps, but it's not near as soft as a rifle length system would be. Would also like to see a 1:8" twist to improve accuracy with lighter bullets.

I doubt they are going to be super quick given that the rifles they are intended for aren’t due till end of Q1 2018. Pricing? Probably in line with BCL pricing currently.

Interesting, but would rather see large straight flutes than the golf ball dimples. I imagine straight flutes would be less programming and machining time, probably would result in a lighter barrel as well.

We’ll be releasing pricing later this week. They will also be available for dealer wholesale.

judging by the accuracy ive gotten out of my bcl 102 i think these barrels would be the perfect cost/accuracy ratio, i would definitely buy a $300 fluted BCL barrel for an NR Maccabee SLR build.

How about a gas tube, low pro gas block, 18.6” dimpled barrel (non fluted 18” one shown) and a $230 Troy quad rail for $450?

I would personally really prefer to not spend the extra on a rail that I will have to resell anyways....however, I do really like the idea of selling the barrel, tube, and block as a combo.
