Canik TP9SFX - Any Range reports and pics

My brother picked one up a few months back... he mounted a JPoint (same as Shield) on his.

Really nice pistol!! Trigger was very good out of the box and it is very accurate. Only negative I have is the slide release is SHARP. Overall I think it's a good buy!

Havn't shot that one ..but had a tp9sa...was a very impressive pistol at its price point or some more expensive...ran without fault..and ate everything...

I am very seriously interested in the SF model, a decocking mechanism on a pistol with an SA trigger makes no sense to me.... I am a pistol newb so this could be clarified if it does in fact make sense.

It is my understanding that the SF does not have a decocking mechanism and that there are aftermarket options available for the stock sights on the SF model. I believe M&P for the front, and a glock sight for the rear.

Just received my SFx last week. Buying a Vortex Venom 3MOA dot this week and taking it to the range since I got my papers yesterday. I will probably put about 300 rounds through it and let you know.

Looking forward to hearing all about it. Im in the market for my first handgun, and the TP9... family is on my list. Don't have access to one to try before I buy unfortunately.

Shot about 200+ rounds through it. I was shooting a mix of 115 and 124 grain rounds and I had zero issues with feeding or extraction. I did however have problems with last round hold open, however I did some research and read that I have to possibly wear the slide release/lock in a bit. I spent about 5 minutes today after taking apart the gun just pushing the slide lock up and down as far as it would go. I then put the gun back together and the gun would hold open with a mag in it, so I will test it again soon.

I ended up getting the 6MOA dot instead. I wanted the 3, but my local store honoured the sale and only had the 6MOA so I jumped on it. I figured the 6moa dot would help me pick it up faster anyway and if I'm shooting competition I doubt I will be making 50+ yard shots where the dot would cover too much of the target. I mounted the dot tonight, it was very easy. Just some blue loctite and made sure not to over tighten the screws.

I had to max out the red dot adjustment down to get it just above my front post, now I have to sight it in at 25 yards.

That's awesome, thanks for the update.

Can anyone comment on the grip size? None of my local retailers have one on hand and I am considering buying anyway but I always prefer to handle a pistol before I commit. For reference the medium grips and backstrap on the HK SFP9 feel just about perfect to me...

my dad picked one up last week from irungunz when they had them on sale, worked out to be like $640 canadian to his door i believe he said.
facetime'd with him last night and he was showing it to me.
he has big mitts and the gun looked big still in his hands.
he really likes the fit and finish of it but he did not care for any of the mag releases that came with it, he found them all huge and stick way out.
while the trigger looks smooth and reset looked super short there was a lot of travel before the break.

personally i dont like the fact that when you put a red dot on it you loose the rear sites.
that is one of the biggest things i love about my M&P Pro Core and my Glock MOS is that i can use my irons and red dot at the same time.
but that is the only negative i could find to say about the gun.
