who hunts with 7.62 x 39 or the 6.5 Grendel?

Not a recommendation of course, with my No.1 handloads definitely being on the warm side, but nothing like what this guy does  -

Those pictures are the definition of "standing on it". Nice Ruger, but I am making a mental note to RUN from any of your rifles if I see them advertised in the EE! ;)

Any gas cutting, pitting or etching occurring around the firing-pin hole on the bolt face from those shenanigans?

That's a pic he found on the 'net.

No problem. :)

It's a real strong action but that individual loading his .223 No.1 like that may not realize chamber pressure could be high enough to cause barrel yielding. He was loading 55gr bullets to 4000 fps!

I want to see what a 7x39 ballistics would be like.

I want something with light recoil that can take moose! :yingyang:

Just shoot reduced loads in a 7-08 or .308 or .30/06... there are factory managed recoil loads available if you don't reload. My daughter shoots my 7mm WSM with 154 grain bullets pushed by 40.0 grains of H4895... a good deer load and very light recoil.
