I am going to pick up a Savage 10T-SR tomorrow in a 6mm Creedmore, any you guys have much for feedback on that gun in the 6mm? My brother just got one in a 6.5 creedmore and it seems to shoot ok, only thing i dont't like about them so far is they come with a 0 MOA rail so we changed it, other than that it seems to be good for the price. I can't find any brass or loaded rounds but i found a set of FL dies so I am just going FL resize some Lapua 6.5 creedmore brass and go with that. Comes with a 8 twist barrel so I am thinking either a Berger 105 VLD or maybe even a Hornady 105 BTHP to start with and see how it does

What's the advantage of the 6mm CM over a .243?

*Edit: I'm suggesting you shouldn't do it, I just don't know much about the caliber.

I dont think there is much difference or any real advantages, there should be less brass trimming with the case design that would be a bonus. Both will be hard on barrels and i would think volicity with be close to same. I am axious to see how it shoots for a $700 gun( its on sale and has a $100 mail in rebate).

I haven't shot the 6 CM, but I LOVE my Savage LRH in 6.5 CM ($630 gun (on sale) plus $100 mail in rebate :)

The ballistics and barrel life are basically the same but the 6mm Creedmoor is designed to fit in an AICS mag while running long bullets without them being stuffed back past the neck/shoulder junction of the case.

The 6 creed is a great caliber for PRS match shooting. Low recoil with lots of case capacity for speed. Only down side like all larger 6mm is they eat barrels. Figure on 1200 match rounds tops.
My6.5 creedmoore had 2200 hard rounds on it and is burnt. If you are easier on them you should get 2400+
