Norinco Type 81 (81-1)

Four models of the Norinco Type 81-1 appear in-game: a standard rifle with no attachments and default ironsights, an "Assault" model with a GP-25 Grenade Launcher and default ironsights, a "Marksman" model with a 4x scope, and a "Night Ops" model with a Thermal scope and an attached flashlight. It is often carried by PLA Vehicle Crewmen

yes...escape from Tarkov has a molot SKS, which is very much a possible setup if someone bothers to make it, and the guns half straight. As for an AK side rail on a type 81, the concept would work. time and time again youve made your ignorance obvious on this matter, so ill continue from here on to IGNORE YOU.

All kinds of things will WORK, look at all the scope mounts for the SKS and other rifles that were never designed for a reciever mounted optic. But finally you have answered my question, which is NO the T81 was never designed for a reciever optic.

Congratulations?

I did a quick calculation based off some measurements... The bullet impact on my type 81 in relation to the receiver @ 100 yards would be roughly 6 ft to the right.... LOL

Well it looks like the fix stock version is less likely to be defective. I do really want one of these rifles but I usually wait until the line up is complete and guns start making their way to store shelves before I get one. Or pick one up on the EE. I remember the price I paid to be one of the first to get a T97. One year later and their selling new for $300 cheaper than their pre sale price. I won't get f@#$ed by pre sale ever again.

I remember my first Vz 58 or CZ 858 had its barrel pointing off to the right and by quit a bit actually. I went and shot it and it didn't seem to hurt it so I just kept it. Eventually the barrel actually made its way to center. I only noticed it because I had to keep re sighting the rifle every once in a while. By 1000rds the barrel was centered.

Unless the supply tap is turned off, historically future imports drop in price, just as you say. Assuming we see another shipment of T81's sometime in 2018, I can't help but think that the price will drop by 10-20%.

PS: Either CPC is not updating tracking reliably right now, or my rifle has been stuck in Winterpeg for 3 days and counting...

Same here bud... I suspect there's many people in the same boat.

The horse and buggy delivery is three days late to depart; the horse is sick and the town vet is out deer hunting.

Doubt we will see another shipment of these.....just mags....with all the issues of bent rifles and various other problems.....if you have one that is mint and unfired or even slightly used you will probably be able to get 1500$ + for it this time next year

For all we know, the bent ones will be sent back to the factory and parts recycled to be put in properly assembled receivers.

Or, possibly, a skilled metal worker could re-rivet the trunnions in properly and "fix" the defective units. I have an idea of how one could accomplish this with the proper tools and some skills, however I don't have experience in doing that sort of thing myself (not on firearms). In theory, it should be feasible - remove the rivets, plug the receiver holes with a mig welder and grind the welds flush, re-drill new holes to align the trunnion, re-blue the receiver and re-rivet the trunnion straight. Done.

x2, definitely wont be cost effective to ship them to back China, TI should now have parts in stock after stripping returned rifles.

Maybe TI got them through "Amazon Prime China" and they will get free return shipping labels and a no questions guarantee, lol! :d

In all seriousness, it was cost effective (profitable) to build Canadian Vz-58's out of surplus parts (kits) and domestic receivers to sell them here, so if they can get a partial refund on the rifles from the factory, they could build or redo the receivers locally and still make a good profit. Either that, or parts kits. Who knows...

I thought TI said they were bringing more in next year along with more mags?

Other than getting the factory to actually produce the rifles, there are no insurmountable problems, with selling another shipment, really :)

Or they could just test fire the out of spec ones to ensure proper bullet hose function, and sell them as seconds for a discount. They would sell them fast I bet.

This is correct. Another 1000 rifles coming in Q1 along with mags and spare parts kits. After those come in they've stated it could be years before another run of T81s if at all, so that's when the value of these rifles may go up if there is still demand by those who didn't get one from either batch.

I don't think we know if it's 1000. I've not seen the number disclosed anywhere.
