People shouldn't get too worked up about what glass is used. Scope design, prescription, lens coatings are much more of a factor. GPO are getting good reviews south of the border from what i've read.

Finally a 1-8 scope that doesn't weight the same as a 5-20x. That, and the price have been what has turned me off getting one. If someone could come out with a 1-8x with a simplistic mil reticle, illuminated center (daylight visible) that weighed 15oz give or take, i could replace every optic on every firearm i own with one.

Because that's the only quantifying thing people know.

Because Schott glass comes in only one grade...

Just like people that like to ask if the rifle have a chrome lined barrel or does it have M4 feed ramp and bayonet lug.

I might have mispoke about German Glass but for cheaper models they use Japanese glass and assembled in Germany.

The high-end models will feature German Schott glass lens and assembled by a Japanese OEM.

They only offer FFP in 1 tactixal scope for now.....

They are coming out with 5-30x 56 i with 34 mm tube. FFP.

the treatment on the schott glass is what will be made a good glass or a blind one. schott means nothing that the quality but not clarity ...

I presume when they buy optical glass from Shott...it is not already ground and polished? Edged and coated? I suspect that poor or mediocre finishing can turn the best optical glass in the world into a coke bottle.
