Hi guys, i'm having an issue with my cz858 and wondering if anyone can help me out. When i insert the magazine and pull back/release the slide to load the gun, the first round goes in half way and gets stuck. I then pull the slide back half way or so and release and the round loads. The rest of the magazine loads and fires fine. But then the same thing happens with the next mag. I've tried all 4 mags that came with the gun. Only the first round gets stuck. And yes, i'm not riding the slide forward, i'm pulling back and releasing. I've did a bit of research but all i seem to find is people having issues with it getting stuck every second or third round.

Hope to hear back, thanks.

I would post in the red rifles section, you will get better responses. I would guess you are riding the charging handle forward if you had not already said you were not. You absolutely can't touch it after letting it fly.

Sounds to me like you are riding the charge handle when loading. Pull back on the charge handle all the way and let it slam home on its full momentum. DO NOT baby the charge handle.

EDIT: I saw your comment about not riding the charge handle. Disregard my post

You are probably slightly riding the charging handle forward. You might not be noticing it, it is an unconscious reaction or involuntary movement. Pull the slide back, and just let her go on her own.

I'm not riding the handle at all, i even let two other people at the range try the gun and the same thing happened to them when they loaded the cz. I'm gonna try and make it out to the range this weekend and see if loading just a cpl rounds in the magazine helps. I don't really think the pin is the issue though since they load just like my AR magazines. Can almost add a 6th round but can't, so i don't think the 5 is too tight.

Are the rounds seated properly in the magazine ?

I had that happening before, top round would be a bit forward in the magazine. I check it all the time now and haven't had any trouble.

Probably not ammo related, I've used a lot of type of ammo in there and never got any issues in cycling/feeding

if its not your mags then perhaps your bolt return spring is weak?

+1 try deliberately not seating rounds properly and see it fails.

How many mags do you have, if you have several does it happen with all of them or just one? When you load the fifth round into the mag is it a tight fit? I had a similar problem with an AR mag, the stupid thing was riveted to hold 4.99 rounds instead of the normal 5.25 or 5.5 rounds. Ended up returning it for replacement.

I have the four mags that came with it. Same thing happens with each magazine. Five rounds fit perfectly, can almost fit a 6th. I'm shooting Norinco 7.62 x 39 FMJ. Next time i go out, i'm going to try loading just 4, but i have a feeling that's not the issue.

Make sure each and every rounds are seated as far back as possible, it’s cliche but try tapping the loaded mag back before inserting into gun.
