I think they are made in the Philippines. The glass in my Sightron STAC 4-20x50 is quite decent for a $680+ tax scope.
I think the glass is like that in my Japanese Bushnell Elite 6500 2.5-16x50. ( $750.00+ tax )
I'm no expert, but I am very happy with both scopes.
I like the way the parallax can be adjusted down to 10 yards with both of them.
(I shoot offhand at an indoor 20 yard range, but I wanted something I could also bench-rest at 50 yards with.)
I mounted the Sightron scope on my CZ 452 Varmint with Burris Signature Zee Rings.
The Elite is on my KIDD Barreled Ruger 10/22 also with Burris Signature Zee Rings.
My Sightron came from site sponsor Hirsch Precision.
The Elite came from Omer at Plain Sight Solutions, also a sponsor.
