Muzzle brake threads

I am in the process of ordering my IBI barrel from mystic precision, really look forward to the upgrade for 2018.
In a previous thread we we're discussing barrel choices, i ended up going 308.
Lack of range and competition around here, and lack of willing to drive 5-6h+ to get to them, got me sticking with 308.
The old tried and true
As a bonus, once i get the bcl102, i'll pretty much rock the same reload equipment.

I only have the muzzle threads left to chose. Already discussed this with Jerry, but wondering you guys, those who have swapped barrels, what did you go with?
I went for an IBI barrel (made in Canada, happy to add another CDN part in the build), Savage prefit, 26'', 1:10, 5R, M24 profile
And looking at insite arms brakes (i currently own one and love it), they offer 5/8x24, 3/4x24, 3/4x20
I have a feeling that go bigger it will be better (as in 3/4x20), just looking around to see.

and off topic, i like where this made in canada build is going. MDT ESS, heathens brake, ATRS 20 moa rail, IBI barrel...
 
On a .30 bore 5/8 x 24 is the way I would go if the muzzle diameter is over .700". No benefit to go larger.
 
Do you mind me asking what the IBI barrel is going to run you? You can pm me if you prefer, or not answer at all.

Yes but... The only muzzle option i am considering is Heathens brake.
If they had not offered the brake in these threads i wouldn't have got these threads

Hmmm, that's pretty reasonable. I mostly ask because I'm thinking of building a stupid project myself. How does that contour compare to the factory 10TR barrel?
 
Factory barrel is 0.800’’ at the muzzle, at 24’’
IBI M24 contour barrel, 0.900’’ at the muzzle, at 26’’

If you cut it down you would have a fatter muzzle

As far as weight and contour at the chamber, we’ll have to wait as barrel ain’t here yet
Once it gets here it will be easy to compare both side by side once savage factory unscrewed

And we’ll see, weak link in my 1/3 moa objective might not even had to do with barrel as my savage barrel looks good
Always wanted something heavier so why not
My savage factory barrel will not always shoot like i want, my groups are always between 1/2 and 3/4 moa right now
