Powder Coat Source?

Economical... one pound will last about a lifetime.

I've found the polyester TGIC powders work the best. Not much to choose between them otherwise.
 
Most if not all the old original "testers" of PCing recommend that we stick to the "solid" plain colors, they all recommend to stay away from Metalic or Flourecent powders for lack of "stickability" with the shake & bake method.

My first powder purchase was from Emerald...good powder but their shipping to Ab. was atrocious so I started asking around at local commercial powder coaters for their "over buys" of any solid colors and have basically got many lifetimes supply of powder for next to nothing...kind of similar to scrounging casting lead

I should try the phantom glass black. It, and bonded bright chrome are the two polyurethane powders I got, with original mirror black and red baron for polyester TGIC.

The bonded bright chrome works great, thin application and it sticks perfectly hammering test bullets flat. I only narrowly give the edge to the polyester TGIC as the coats seem more uniform and easier to apply free from thick spots. I use a few handfuls of airsoft BBs and maybe a tablespoon of powder in a plastic container.

Certainly much easier than messing with traditional lube, and orders of magnitude cheaper.
 
We got a new KMS tools in Grande Pairie and I picked up some, it seems to work, did some clear and some copper and did the hammer test and it didn’t flake off.

Thats a great idea! Im gonna try so local shops in my area i found on a Google search.

What I use for shake and bake is 3-4 inch ABS pipe with a cap on each end, a hand full of airsoft BB’s, through in 50-75 bulletts and shake it for 30 seconds. A lot of people use a margine container and do the same thing, the idea is to create static electricity to have the powder cling to the bullet. I find that ABS pipe creates a lot of static

What type of baking temperature do you use?

I think I will pick up some powder at Princess Auto and do a few tests as it is fairly inexpensive.
How can you not like powder coating with all the great colors available!
