Hi folks, I am anxiously awaiting my new S&W M&P 15 Sport 2, and am already thinking of changing some things on it. The black plastic furniture on it is IMHO really fugly. Does anyone know of a source, preferably in Canada, of a wood furniture set ? I am half tempted to make the pieces myself, have a lathe and the tools, but can't seem to figure out how to drill the holes for the buffer tube and handguard !

The "plastic fantastic" furniture is the whole idea behind Stoner's design. If you wanted a wood stocked semi-auto why did you buy an AR-15? Just an honest question.

A Ruger Mini-14 has a wood stock.

We have the Boyd's stocks here in both nutmeg and pepper laminates

Ironwood was the original and, I think, best version of a wood stocked AR-15. Unfortunately, that section of their website is currently down so one can't see what the current offerings are.

Not going to lie.
THAT one looks pretty sweet.

I'm a keep my A1 USGI scarred up plastic on my sweet trusty M16A1 clone though.
Guarantee that wood is adding much more weight than is required to a perfectly balanced and light weight rifle.

Slick looking rifle! Definitely a form over function and very much a personal preference. As a show pice why not!

Very, very nice. If I wanted an AR, that would be the one.
