223 with a 1:12 twist?

White box winchester 45 grain hollow points have shot well in a few slow twist .223's for me, although most have also shot at least one load of 55 grain soft points very well. My only 1-13 twist .223 at the moment seems to really like flat base 50 and 55 grain soft points best. I do hope to find a somewhat higher BC load to make connecting past 200 yards on a windy day easier to do on coyotes.
Yes the tip of those 45 grain hollow points is ugly but they shoot good in a lot of .223's and .22-250's for me. Not great for bucking the wind though.

Yeah, I'd be looking somewhere else than the ammo if you were using anything that wasn't loaded with heavy bullets meant for a faster twist.
What exactly are you deciding is not accurate enough, though? What groups are you getting?
As a point of reference, most .22 centerfire barrels were made with a 14 twist, originally. This came about in the era after the use of 16 twist rimfire barrels was considered the norm.
Remington has made a whack-load of 12 twist barrels too, on their guns.
Just sayin'. It likely isn't the bullet weight that is doing you over.
My 223 has a 14 twist barrel on it and it shoots 55gr just fine.
Cold weather shooting? Coffee'd up?
Start with fessing up to the group size and range? And what you think it should be.
Have someone else shoot your gun before you get rid of it.
The americans did cold weather trials with their Viet Nam era M-16's, in the 60/70's and discovered that cold weather and 1/12 twist did not go together for .223, they got just about the same result as you did if not worse.
for sure, stick to 55 grain bullets in that twist and try it gain when it gets warmer.

It isn't the gun or ammo - your 1 inch group at 100 is pretty good - I would look at your optics and that thing called Parallax - most budget minded scopes are set at 100 yards - my Leupold is set at 150 yards. Your gun is fine - tell us what optics your using - I would strongly suggest mounting a better scope. And, make sure the mounts/rings are torqued properly. Just my two cents (been there)
