Dishwasher m14 warning.

Got my m305 yesterday, and I got to clean it then fire it today. Now that I know how long the first cleaning takes I can't blame a guy for looking for a shortcut.

Try a few bucks worth of diesel in a 5 gallon bucket and a brush, makes short work of any cosmoline/chinese goop.

My friend got his 305 today and decided to try the whole gun in the dishwasher thing and it didn’t turn out so well he put it in on the pots and pans setting and pulled it out right after it was done and this is the result.

I used a bottle of simple green and then some brake clean followed by a rag with some gun cleaner finally a little gun oil on a rag and I was very happy with the results I know there are people on here that have had success with the dishwasher but just be aware that it might cause some harm I’d hate to see more people having this problem.

Am I really getting so old and to wonder who in there right mind puts ANYTHING in there dishwasher that is caked in cosmoline? Its along the same lines and trying to bake powder-coating in your kitchen oven or use the stove to do chrome plating! If I hadn't already divorced her, my ex-wife would slaughter me if I'd washed a rifle stock or in the OP's case a rifle (ROFL) off in the dishwasher...
