I'm looking for some help to disassemble and clean the bolt carrier assembly on this old Soviet .22.

Magazines are extinct.

I dont know how to upload a photo sorry.

It's been a while since I've owned one, but as I recall you simply turn the nose of the bolt. It disconnects and you can then pull it forward from the body. I could be wrong about that, like I said it's been a while.
I also remember someone telling me that a particular Mossberg magazine will fit with very minor modifications. I'd suggest Google searching using Mossberg and TOZ as keywords.

That's a very different bolt from what was in my rifle.. The one I had was a TOZ-17-01, which may have been an earlier or later version of the rifle.
Very accurate, but crudely manufactured, would be the best way to describe mine.

I have two TOZ 17'S, both the bolts look the same. The pictures above are from one of them.

thanks boys

I'm going to have to buy a pin set and try this. Once i learn to upload photos I'll share what Ive done.

aha. success. I did a thing!

Unless there's heavy rust in the bolt. A heavy dose of brake cleaner or bore solvent then some gun oil, blown out with air gun after each application. Gets 99% of the junk out.

I'm reviving an old post, but i landed here trying to find some info on dissassembly of an old beat up toz 16 single shot bolt assembly... I just ended up soaking it in wd-40 for a couple days and slamming the pins with a punch to finally strip the bolt assembly and firing pin apart. If you are looking into doing this just keep in mind reassembly is even worst since you'll have to punch back the spring loaded assembly together. I had to build homemade tools but overall a fun process

Tried it and Nope. 802 is not as thick and has round front vs squared off on Toz.
Butchered 802 mag for sale.

Resurrect again, i tried the 802 thing. my toz 17, not 1701 is rounded front but the 802 is .030 inches to thick, after hours of filing it wont feed, my mag has a step in the mag no other has. Buchered a 40 dollar mag.
