Yea the metal on my top hand guard was painted. I removed it all with 0000 steel wool, funny part is it was perfectly blued underneath?!? Why even paint ?

To be honest, didn't even think of it but they are replacing the dark wood upper handguard for one that matches more uniform.

So that is a plus and shows TI is standing behind their products so my guess would be that TI would replace the dustcover aswell
