Just got my new Maple Ridge Armoury 16.1" Match Series upper from True North Arms. I wanted something lighter with a full length hand guard for my 3-gun rifle next year. The machining looks good, no burrs or sharp edges anywhere they aren't supposed to be. The fit is incredibly tight on my Colt Canada lower, too tight for my liking actually. My only other complaint for now is that the staking of the gas key on the included BCG is pretty weak. Besides that though the actual bolt is NiB coated and looks pretty nice. Total weight is now 7.2 pounds without the magazine, a full 1 pound lighter than the IUR it replaced. The barrel is 416R stainless steel with a 1:8 twist and chambered in .223 Wylde. I won't be getting out to the range anytime soon so I will have to report back on accuracy but wow she feels and handles different now. I'll get some more detailed pics up later once I dig out my macro lens. My dilemma now is what to do with the Colt Canada IUR? Pick up a complete lower off the EE and build a second rifle for guests to use?

Pretty obvious colour difference

Isn't that a Midwest Industries logo on the handguard? (edit: nevermind, figured out it's the M-LOK logo)

Cutouts on the top of the handguard for weight savings

Just got mine in the mail the other day, haven't had a chance to really test it yet but I've gotta say I'm super impressed with the quality.

That MRA upper looks much better made than the Colt lower ..
Time will tell but it does indeed look to be very high quality. The machining looks very good. Again, my only complaint so far is the staking job on the gas key.

why get a lower off the EE just get another from true north
EE will hopefully be cheaper IF I go that route.

Following, please let us know how it performs at the range.
Will do. Hoping to get to the range this long weekend.

That hand guard looks pretty slick. Good looking piece.

I'm certainly interested in how their match series compares with the colt
