300 BLKOUT Sub load- Lil gun/208’s.

Hello Nutters!

Merry Christmas! I Hope Santa found everyone.

I need some advice/guidance on a sub load I’m building for my Ruger American bolt gun.

So here is what I have;
Lil gun powder. 208 grain amax’s.

The gun-
16’ barrel, one in 7 twist.

Any advice is welcome. COA? Grains of powder?

I’ve tried a couple different loads for it so far but they must have been for Semi’s.
Way past the sub range.

Thoughts?

Thanks!!

Tony

I haven't loaded 208's over Lil'Gun but I use A1680 for my sub loads with those bullets.

My REM 700 AAC-SD 300BLK 1:7 16" loves 155gr A-max over Lil'Gun and A1680 (supersonic), I have loads with both powders that will shoot sub moa from my rifle.
Another fun load in mine is a 150gr FMJ over 6.5gr of Trialboss for a cheap sub load.

Let us know how it works for you.
I wasn't happy with the accuracy of the subsonic loads I tried.

I was at that point last year, but came across a <moa load using a published charge of IMR 4227. When I print several 100 yard groups on the same target paper, I intend on bumping up that thread... but I never seem to find the time to do it. But the load is Barnes 300BO brass, Federal small rifle primer, 9.7-9.8gr of IMR 4227. There are other details I'd have to look up in my loading notes... crimps, COAL trim length etc. Bullet is 225gr Hornady BTHP.

Manuals always list magnum primers, but nothing worked good for me so I tried small rifle primers.
