Ruger releases the new PC Carbine

Looks like a well designed carbine, good call on making the mag well adaptable to glock mags and including the adapter in the purchase price.
Takedown looks good too.

would it still be restricted if it has an overall length of more than 34 inches?

Yes, semi auto centerfires must have a barrel longer than a 18.5inch, who is the ruger distributor in canada? Maybe they can bring some longer barrel versions for us.

Would have been nice to offer a 40 cal version too. Hopefully will be offered NR. Also wish the ghost ring would have been mounted in the more traditional location to increase sight radius.

Easy enough to mount one on the rail if that's your preference.

It's sort of a no win, cause if they had put it on the rear someone would complain that the takedown affects the accuracy potential of the irons. Mounted on the barrel with a big aperture it should work fine for quick, well aimed off hand shots.

If they build a longer barrel for it, I could see trading my CX4 for one; I'd prefer a more traditionally appointed rifle.

There was a similarly configured Czech-made carbine that Kelly's had months ago, but I've only ever seen the one and could find no further info on it. Looked like a 10-22 with a 9mm 1911 mag hanging off it

Looking at the barrel contours, producing 18.5"+ barrels might be a bit complicated.

Why? Please elaborate.

Odds are the aftermarket will offer rear mounted peeps to replace the rear blade, I think it was done to retain the takedown capabilities without losing zero. I the sights stay on barrel you can't lose the zero on those irons.

The looks won't inspire the Tactical AR wannnabe crowd but for what it is it looks fine to me..... and for $500 out the door down south it should do pretty good for Ruger.

It's like four different people each designed a part, but none were allowed to see what the others were doing.

I never understood why Ruger stopped producing the PC9. This looks great especially with the takedown feature. Not holding my breath for a 18.5" version but one can dream.

would rather it had no sights, just the scope rail

Pretty much my mind. How many 9mm rifles out there aren't an AR, AR-a-like, or a space gun? It's been done to death, and is still being done. That market segment is thoroughly represented.
