Seems like a stupid question but where do you buy your brass from? The days of Cabelas and Wholesale Sports stockings tons of brass have long since gone.

Where ever is cheapest unless I'm desperate. Here's my order of preference:

- Local gun range - It's dirty work but it's free
- EE - Preferably locally so I don't have to pay shipping.
- Gunshows - but I don't go to many anymore. I rather spend the $10-15 entrance fee on shipping off the EE/Retail instead and guarantee the brass I want.
- Retail - Sometimes it's already deprimed, tumbled and sized, sometimes you can get 'em a little cheaper where you have to deprime/clean/size yourself.

When I first started reloading I bought 9mm and 223 at my LGS. Now, I get free brass at my outdoor range. If the brass that I need/want is not available from the range (308, 300WM, 45-70), I purchase it off the EE.

For new to me calibers it's where ever I can find it. The EE is an easy choice.

Fortunately I was a hoarder for a while and mostly just have to go look in my saddle shop/reloading room for any caliber I have or have had.

Nothing like buying brass and finding 200 new brass of the same cal a week later looking for something else...

+1. But I skip the gunshows. Never had to buy new retail yet. 7.62x54r may be my first though.

I bought some Winchester from the EE, it was a local deal to avoid shipping. I'm in NS, Hirsch Precision is about 20 mins from work so I buy from Peter when it makes sense to. Lapua brass is nice stuff!
