I guess now people that have seen this thread can ask before placing the order, to make sure what they will get in the box.

Are you and other CZ Dealers doing the importation or is there a single CZ Importer/Distributor in Canada?

Wolverine Supplies is one of four official CZUB importers. The others are Big Rock Sports, North Sylva and London Arms. We all do our own importation into Canada and distribute out to dealers Canada wide. Firearms Outlet Canada does purchase CZ product from us.
Any further questions I will do my best to answer.

I got one of the earlier black/blue grip batches to come into Canada and came with the extended safety. A while back, I saw someone else ask about the extended safeties and Wolverine chimed in that they no longer came with them but now had the full steel MecGar mags instead of the 1/4 plastic base ones. I know it may not be popular with a lot of IPSC guys but I like it 'cause it gives my thumb someplace to ride on like a 1911.

I personally run one of the earlier S2's and I got the extended safety with mine but imho the poorer mags. I am upgrading them all to Mecgar's with the "plus 2" basepads. Something I couldn't do with the originals. I think the current configuration is better for most people. The extended safeties are available from us or any dealer that purchases through us as well as an ever expanding small parts inventory ready for the next step with CZUB

It seems really hit and miss on the safeties, but honestly getting the new MecGar mags with your gun is a far better deal anyhow.
If CZ is not including the safeties, it's because they've heard through the grapevine that most of them are being tossed aside anyhow. So why bother including them.

I've shot it both with and without and prefer it without as you wouldn't be using the safety when shooting Prod. I wish there was an easier way to find a CZ Custom red dot mount up here. Springer look good, but it seems that the one from CZ Custom is a tad lower.

The original slim safety I find hard to reliably operate. That may be one reason :)

The thing is, if you want them you will have to spend 100+$ to get them.
Before they were free.

I bought a set of safety for my CZ75 about 2 years ago ( think it was 140$ with taxes and shipping ) and you had to fit them, ( left safety lever with shaft into the right lever with the hole ) therefore reblue them because you have to gently file the top of the tip of the shaft. If they come already fitted from the factory, its another plus.

The CZ low profile safeties are flat black compared to the extended safeties which are more satin black, way closer to the pistol finish.

We all know MecGar mags are better than CZ mags but I really doubt the difference of price between the 2 reach the cost of the second set of safety.

For these reasons, I'm dissapointed that there is no more a spare set of extended safeties included with the Shadow 2.

As stated earlier, current prices for the S2 are running about $125 less than when they first came out. And you are now getting far superior mags than the original OEM mags.

Only thing you are not getting is an extended safety that i’d Estimate 90%+ folks do not use anyway. If you really want the extended safety you can take that $125 cost savings and buy one. I’ll gladly sell you my two at that price.

This IMO is a far superior deal for the majority of Shadow 2 users. So having a hard time understanding why some are complaining. This gun even at its original higher release price is an excellent value! I defy anyone to find an equivalent quality out of the box competition ready Gun at this price.

Yeah the new current price point is an argument...
But when you want something that just came out, you always pay higher price, supply vs demand.

Don't forget that MecGar mags are very good but they are not super expensive.

Like I said its also because you will probably need to fit them and reblue them if you buy them apart from CZ.
And the finish on the low safety is mate vs the satin finish on the extended safeties, which is closer to the finish of the pistol.
So I still better like to have them from the factory, especialy if they are already fitted from CZ.
But hey, that's my opinion !

As offered you are welcome to buy my original extended factory blued safeties if finish is a big issue. Am sure loads of others would also be willing to sell their unused extended safeties to.

Do note the flat black finish you mention on my shallow safeties which I admit was slightly puzzling, but ultimately was never an issue for me. Use one of my S2’s as my practice Gun and 2nd as my match Gun. Try and keep them in good shape but after a LOT of use both have little boo boos and holster wear which is par for the course for any well used tools I own and would not IMO outshadow (no pun intended) the flat black finish on my shallow S2 safety. But that’s me and how I view my guns. They’re tools and i’m not going to sweat the little stuff such as minor cosmetics on such a great value competion gun as the S2.

Yes. Mecgar mags are comparatively reasonably priced to other gun mags out there. And they are typically built better and as Wolverine said you can add the plus 2 mag base pads to them like i and many others with big paws have. Which is something you can’t do with the the original OEM mags that are much more cheaply made than the mecgars and imo likely cost CZ less than the mecgars. So not really sure what yer point is here on the mecgars?

My guess is most of the folks gripping about the lack of extended safeties here on this thread would like most S2 owners end up not using them ...and just want them because they ‘feel’ like they are being chiselled out of something they should have...even though CZ has reduced the gun price accordingly...and they are better off for it.

Again pm if you really want to buy my original extended safeties.

Mine came with both, I installed the wide safety as I found with the slim one I couldn't reliably disengage 100% of the time....but that's just me, I have a SAO trigger installed so my safety is always engaged. I also find that sometimes I ride the safety with my thumb and other times I don't, i probably dont more than i do, it feels comfortable either way and my accuracy doesn't seem affected, but I need to make up my mind lol. I personally think i would be happy with a safety somewhere in between the two. I have debated on filing down the wide one a bit and not ride it with my thumb but still have enough sticking out for reliable disengagement. If anyone has a wide one they want to get rid of cheap PM me lol.

The value of the MecGar mags is higher than that of the extended safeties. the mags cost CZUB more than the safeties do, they make the safeties in house, the mags they buy from MG.
That said it's worth an email to whomever your seller got the guns from and asking if the gun should have come with the oversized left side safety (none come with the oversized right).
Somewhere I have a few sets of the oversize, but no idea where I put them, might have sold them, honestly can't remember.
