Where do you guys buy your brass from?

Seems like a stupid question but where do you buy your brass from? The days of Cabelas and Wholesale Sports stockings tons of brass have long since gone.
Yes. Local Cabela's opened one year ago. Noted recently that the bullet selection was occupying half the space it was when the store opened. The basic big box store issue. If it ain't mainstream they don't carry it.
I shoot a lot of obsolete or hard to find calibres and buy it where I find it. I hoard brass too. I mean who would have thought .303 Brit would get scarce 30 years ago?
Brass bucket at the range, local shooting range shop, Higginsons and gun shows. I recently got 5 50 rd. boxes of virgin Winchester Hornet brass at a gun show dirt cheap. Well worth the price of admission.

I suppose that question is about rifle brass that just doesn't happen to be everywhere on the ground in every shooting range like 9mm. So there:
1-Local gun store when they have sales;
2-The EE. But getting good deals is nearly impossible due to shipping fees and 1Fired might be more like 10Fired sometimes. Got one good local deal on 44mag brass lately but they're few and far between;
3-The usual suspects: x-reload and Budget shooter supply. They never really go on sale, but they offer new brass for a fair price and their shipping rates are usually more reasonable than the EE because they have volume prices. Plus you can get other components at the same time.

I surprised at the number of people pick up used brass at the range. You have no clue how many times its been reloaded. It might be on the ground for a good reason.

Its hard to find 303 British these days. Even 308Win Cabelas doesn't stock.

I have picked up so much 223 after the LEOs have had a training session that I have not had to pick up 223 for a few years and I probably won't for another few years to come. In this case I know the brass is once fired.
But I agree with what your saying in general. About 10 years ago I bought "once fired" 308 brass from one of my favourite powder suppliers. The primer pockets felt like they seated too easily, so rather than second guess, I never used the brass and chalked it up to experience.

Generally I buy my brass from Hirsch or X reload. In the past I have bought once fired 338 LM off the EE also but I trust the guys implicitly that it is once fired.

I also purchased 1F brass from a known supplier.
308 FC.
Primer pockets we're all over the map. Some we're tight, some we're loose. Some had crazy headspace some had tight headspace.
For rifle stuff, i prefer new now, unless i really know where it comes from

If it's on the ground for a good reason, then that reason will be evident: neck splits, incipient case head failure, etc. I often look for brass, keep any useful stuff and chuck the rest. Using range brass isn't that big a deal if you use common sense.

This is obviously a generalization, but I've never seen a reloader not pick up his/her brass even if it goes in the garbage.

I get my bulk 1F 223, 9mm, 45 from Whistler Shooting Adventures. Great pricing, great service and quick shipping

Anyone know where to get cheap 357 brass? Better than 25 cents a piece or cheap 357 ammo. Only want a couple hundred.

Not sure why some guys are so picky. I have some gazillion fired 9mm, just keeps going. Throw it out once it splits. Actually no I'm wrong!! Leave it at the range it will blow up your gun if you use it! Sweep it into a nice pile, I will throw it away for you ; )

Gotenda has a good sale on .357
They managed to get it cheaper than my club that buys bulk for members.

Canada Brass and Prophet river usually have what I need. I find it strange that the huge outdoor stores like bass pro etc. carry like 10 types of brass in their 5 acre stores of nothing.
