Announcing Glock 19X

GLOCK, Inc. introduces their first ever “Crossover” pistol, the GLOCK 19X, which combines the best features of two of its most popular and most trusted field-tested platforms. The full-size frame and the compact slide have joined forces to produce the ideal pistol for all conditions and all situations.

“The G19X was developed for the military and is a practical everyday pistol that will do what you need it to do, when you need it to; every time, in every condition,” says GLOCK VP Josh Dorsey. “The pistol was developed for the military using GLOCK’s combat proven experience with consideration to efficiency, dependability and durability. Through rigorous testing, the G19X stands out above the competition and has the ability to function in all situations with ultimate reliability and accuracy. Our goal was to meet the demanding needs of the military while maintaining our standard of perfection. With proven results, the G19X delivers maximum efficiency and trustworthiness.”

Confidence now comes in the coyote color with the first-ever factory colored slide. The nPVD slide coating of the GLOCK 19X prevents corrosion, resists chemicals, and stands up against the elements. Additional design features of the G19X include the GLOCK Marksman Barrel (GMB) with enhanced polygonal rifling and an improved barrel crown for increased accuracy, ambidextrous slide stop levers and no finger grooves for better versatility, and a lanyard loop for retention. The pistol includes a standard 17-round magazine and two 17+2-round extended magazines along with a coyote-colored pistol case.

The aggregate effect of all the G19X design enhancements gives any user the assurance to succeed and survive in all situations. A perfect “Crossover to Confidence”.

The G19X will be available beginning January 22nd, 2018 at select dealers.

The publicly titled "Glock no one asked for".

Although I think this is a pointless design, it seems more people would've wanted a 17 slide on a 19 frame although I can see the benefit of that either.
They should have just released the XM17 submission, collectors would've eaten that #### up.

Bang on.

Touching base on this again, I think 2018 is going to be a really crap year for this industry. We came off an incredibly hot 8 years of record breaking sales, and dealers and retailers bought tons of stock in anticipation of this and are now having really big sales to try and clear out their remaining stock. On the manufacturing side of things, I think we're in for a lot of "why bother" releases, like the glock 19x.
Manufacturing has become no different than the media either. It's all about whose first, and who comes out with the most ground breaking design of the year, instead of focusing on delivering a solid, repeatably reliable and well made piece. I don't want to have to replace my pickup, or my Glock, or my optic every 3-6 years, I just want some old school reliable #### that's going to last me.

I have XL hands and have zero issues with the G19 grip, I really don't understand the purpose of this design...

The only reason the regular G19 is preferred over the G17 is that the smaller grip conceals better. They should made a G17 slide that would fit on the G19, then you could of at least played SIG P320 :p

They should have went full instead of only half retard and offered a 26 sized slide on a 17 frame.

It's still clownshoes though.

I wonder what is the target market? Military maybe.
Definitely not the 3-gun or cc crowd.
They should just open a glock LEGO shop to allow pick and choose whatever slide+frame combo you want.

17 on the 19 frame would at least give you the easier to conceal frame with the slighltly longer sight plane. So to a degree, I can see why it would be desirable. As you point out though, no one asked for this. It's the worst of both worlds.

It's not a Glock for my purposes, that's for sure.

As devil's advocate, they do say it was specifically designed for military applications.

In that case, maybe concealability is a non-factor, and the additional capacity is a plus. MAYBE it's so that you can have an overall shorter length when you have a supressor mounted.

Anyone think of any other benefit of a shorter slide on the standard grip?

I like it. Higher capacity and more grip area coupled with short barrel for ease of draw. If there was such a thing as a build your own Glock, this is the configuration I would choose, but to each their own I guess.

LOL these threads always make me chuckle, anytime Glock does anything new it brings out the trolls on both sides, the Glock lovers and haters.
