Yup I was in bass pro before Xmas and like you say, they only had small quantity of brass.
Makes you wonder maybe they figure they will sell more manufactured bullets if people cannot get brass.?

I bought the last bag of 7mm Rem Mag at Cabelas today. Tough to find 303 British. I'm going to order a few 100 308 Win from one of our sponsors soon.
I toss my old brass in the garbage but people still dig in the garbage looking for stuff. Thats all I was saying. If I pitch it, its pretty well used. Its in the garbage for a reason.

I don't know if "garbage" means a bin that'll go to a scrap metal yard or to landfill like real garbage, but I can assure you that the worst cracked piece of brass still can be made new. Brass isn't worth gold, but most scrap yard will pay a few dollar per pound for high quality brass, and ammo brass is high quality, even the worst casings.
A regular at my range got almost a grand selling his old brass. Most of it was 22lr.
