Hi all,

Im just interested if anyone here owns a barrel by former barrel maker Bevan King? I own a precision .308, Its a Rem 722 action, lapped and worked to a glass smooth finish. Its set in an AICS 1.5 stock, and the barrel is a 1.5" stainless spiral fluted barrel made by Canadian barrel maker Bevan King, which I just learned has passed away, about a year ago. I was told the barrel I own is one of the last, if not the last barrel he made. My rifle is a very accurate rig, which is capable of basically putting all the rounds into a large ragged "one hole" group. Bevan did a super job in the making of my barrel.

Does anyone else here own a rifle with one of his barrels? Its sad to hear such a talented builder is no longer with us. Barrel making is truly an art, IMO, and there are not that many makers out there.

Ginnz.

Bevan King was a fine gentleman. It was always a pleasure to talk with him and his wife on the phone.

Here's a little line up of the results of some of the work he did for me over the years.

^ that 375 CT, now owned by John is one of my favourite "frequent flyers" on CGN...... classsy chambering in a real "hunter's rifle".....

That pic of you and Ted with your caribou is one of my favourites as well....... that's the stuff of dreams right there.....

I scored one of his barrel blanks off the EE, probably 2 years ago now. A .303 to be precise.

A project that is still in the works, so don't mind the crummy finish and crummy looking stock at the moment. :runaway:

I was one of the lucky ones to have a custom rifle built by Bevan on a P14 action.
I gave Bevan a receiver, a mismatched bolt, stock and trigger and he machined the rest.
This particular rile is chambered in 416 Wetherby and I believe it may have been the last rifle he completed.
It is a lovely rifle that I will likely never sell.

Awesome looking rifle ginnz !!
Here guys, I thought i'd share a pic of the beauty he created for my rifle, its a bit over the top, but the chamber is super tight, and she shoots like a laser with 167 gn lapua HPBT. never put 'er on a scale, but its a bit much for off hand shooting... ;-)

I bought a .416 Bevan King barrel from David Henry last year. It was chambered in 416 Ruger, put on an old Ruger 77 tang safety 338 win mag and bedded into a Mcmillan stock I bought off the EE. Its shoots the 350 TSX and 400 DGS to the same POI with RL 15.
Its off being cerekoted now.

This is the only Bevan King barrel I have and it is very accurate. His barrels have a great reputation for accuracy and I was happy to get this from David at the time.
