Hello folks!
Now I am finally a licenced gun enthusiast-and I am waiting for some really cool guns to be shipped to me.And among them I am insanely happy of my childhood dream coming true-they say I will receive my PTRS-41 in this February-March!And I am certainly very surprised that in fact I am possibly going to be the first ever PTRS-41 owner in Canada-it is cool if it is so,but also it means that noone knows what is that and how to do anything with it..And also there are no spare parts and ordnance for it is only possible to get by ordering bullets from Ukraine and reloading rounds with them. But it will be on my own,as I am from Russia-and by the way back there I am enough skilled and have enough tools to make miniguns, but here I don't have enough tools to make one piece of metal welded to another, and in Canadian tire there are not many special tools and benches I need.

So,can anybody tell me where I can order first of all some replacement parts to replace original ones with-in order to upgrade it.

I want to replace it's muzzle break because it's original one is creating a flash which makes the scope which I also want to mount on it,deadly for the shooter's eyes-the fireball's brightness seen through the long range scope is able to incinerate paper in one shot and it will definitely blind anyone forever. And also it's efficiency as a muzzle break is too low.

The second part I wish to replace is it's firing handle and buttstock together which I want to replace with a single piece with recoil buffer to reduce it's recoil, which is great by the way(I felt it when used PTRS-41 in Debalzevo, where I came like a volunteer at time of heavy clashes there)

Also I think I will replace the bipod and as always, mount a long range scope to be able to shoot at more than 2 kilometres with it-because the platform provides enough accuracy to hit targets at even 3 and more kilometres, which was shown many times during WW2,for example one guy after appearing of really heavy armoured German tanks on the battlefield turned from a tank killer to a plane killer(probably APC-s and other armoured vehicles didn't interest him ;))and he successfully shot down planes from such distances..

So where can I order all that stuff, which by the way currently doesn't exist anywhere except some computer games, and as quick and cheap as possible? But of course enough robust to sustain it's enormous power, recoil impulse and other stuff!

By the way little bit of technical characteristics!
Round:B-32&BS41 14.5×114 (below data shown about BS41)
Weight with full magazine(5rd):22.6 kilograms(50+ pounds)
Length(overall):211 centimetres(6'11")
Barrel length(without muzzle break):135 centimetres(53,15 inches)
Bullet weight:66,8 grams(1031 grains)
Bullet initial velocity:1020 metres per second(3350 ft/s)
Initial energy:33800 joules(25 thousand ft lbs)
Penetrating ability:45mm(1.77 inches of mil-spec armour steel(the best of all alloys and matters used as armour that people have invented for today);65 to 70 millimetres(2.55-2.75 inches of AR550 solid plate.)
Approximate fireball length and brightness:8 to 12 metres and 2 to 3 thousand lux(with original muzzle break)
Measured sound loudness(at shooter's head position,20 cm above the buttstock):147 db,which means that even such guys like me(who never before used ear plugs while shooting, shot dozens of thousands rounds with rifles and like me,love the sound of shooting Mauser k98 indoors at closed hermetical rooms and ranges),get both ears bleeding after the first shot anyways.
Even with KZRZP,a silencer used with PTRS-41,It's sound is still louder than 130db!
Length of KZRZP:53 centimetres(20 inches)

So please tell me any suggestions about my little question and what do you think about the written above

By the way some photos of the parts which I have already got on my hands, also test plate-1.75 inches of mil-spec armour steel, pierced like butter and some suggestions how I want to finally get a result of my improvements!

Hate to tell you this, but you're not the first one in Canada. There are a few (very few) out there. I know for a fact that Klunk had one for a while. It actually spent some time at my house while he was doing some renos.

Ammunition seems to be unobtanium. There's actually a couple places you can get cases. They are steel, so even if you had a die, I don't think you could resize/reload. Bullets? Primers? I know that Klunk always wanted to shoot his, but couldn't source any ammo. Not sure of your background, but if Klunk, with all his connections, couldn't find any, I'm not overly hopeful that any can be found in Canada

I know a gun shop that has one hanging from its ceiling for years now (I'm 95% sure its the same rifle) - said the same thing about not being able to find ammo.

Please share some pictures of the miniguns you made back in Russia. I'd be very curious to see them!

As for your "little questions", you can pretty much just forget about your little project. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news... You wont find any parts, or ammo. Any part/accessory would have to be custom made, and If you're shopping for tools in Canadian Tire, you certainly won't be able to pull this off.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings and not wanting to rain on your parade but there already are several PTRS41s in Canada. I owned 1 several years ago.
As for most powerful, sorry but my L39 Lahti 20x138B is significantly more powerful, there are sevral of these already in Canada as well.

There is a guy on MILSURPS.COM claims to sell spent casing at $5 USD a piece will ship from the Ukraine

L39 Lahti - VERY elegant!

Okay,I am really glad that there are some here-it seems like than the parts would not be as unobtainable as I thought they will be!
And about the rounds I will need in general only the casings, because I seem to be shipped more than 2 thousand bullets B-32 from Ukraine in the following month and as for BS-41 rounds I also try to make a deal with another Ukrainian guy who will ship some bullets and also many more cores for them! And also I know where to get some blanks for the cores which will fit the core diameter and I will simply need to saw these "rods" into little cylinders from which I will be able to make brand new BS41 cores, and after that I will do what I always done in Russia with AP cores from excavated bullets(99% of them are intact while 80 percent of jackets are enough damaged to become impossible to shoot)to make some AP rounds for my Mauser k98 back there-simply drilled and melted the lead, than inserted the core and let it all to cool down and the bullet became AP.So maybe I will simply make the same if I will have proper empty jackets manufactured elsewhere..

And so I suppose someone will be interested in buying that stuff from me,but the main thing is that I will no longer have lack of ammunition for that beast ))

And about the parts that I will need-who can make the custom ones for me?As I know there are no guns which use the same dimensions of threading for example or anything as well-for example there are no standardised things neither in any country's military nor in any country's civilian industry on which you will be able to screw it's muzzle break-it will not fit anything else with it's threading because the dimensions are irregular like for example threading for Mosins or SVT40's barrel and receiver which are 24.5×1.6×31-these threading dimensions are used nowhere else in the world.

So I will need to find some gunsmith which will be able to create for example the new muzzle break from zero by using my technical task and my blueprints.Which screwing will be unlike any other,as the only thing it will fit-is the PTRS barrel's screwing at the muzzle end.

Yes,I know that s18/1000 or Lahti l39 are more powerful, but I don't consider them single man-portable,while in Debalzevo when I was given PTRS I was barely able to carry it alone for couple hundred metres and also shooting it from the shoulder was quite hard and when I had to do so,it almost dropped me to the ground with recoil, while I don't consider myself as small or weak person-I am 193 cm (6'4" tall)and I weight 92kg(205 pounds),while I never was fat or even had some problems with workout..Though I am very far from many guys which I know who can shoot KPVT from hip with a 40 round burst and even put every round from 100 metres in a manhole cover-but I hardly doubt that even that guy will be able to run couple kilometres and hip fire Lahti or Solothurn..As I know S18/1000 weights 58.5 kilograms and I can probably carry it for a hundred metres before running out of any stamina and simply drop dead after that-and the recoil will be also impossible to hold while shoulder firing..

So as for Russian classification anything that is more than 15mm calibre is artillery-or aviation auto cannon..

Probably I had to specify that..

If you are looking at specially machined parts, and somebody that knows the firearm well enough to do the work, you already have your answer. He's the one that owns the Lahti, and also AlTRS (site sponsor).
