Show off your short-barrelled CQB-PDW-style AR15s! (barrels 12" or under)

Ooo nice rifles.. I'll also play :)

Top is RRA PDS 9" 5.56 "pistol" ;)

Bottom is 7.5" .300 BLK that's 4lbs :)

That RRA is REALLY cool. Love the forward charging handle and lack of a buffer tube. What's one of those worth?

Uhh, I think I paid 1000$ USD for that one.

I'm thinking of using the RRA upper on a normal AR15 lower, creating a folding stock, piston driven 9" 5.56 cqb rifle :)

Since the RRA lower is classified as a pistol, I dont know how I could pimp that out and be able to actually use it. (Imagine a beowulf upper on it.. would make it a .50 pistol in an ar platform... lol)

does the pistol registration prevent you from putting a stock on it? because RRa has a folding stock adaptor (that I guess fits on RRA pistols :D )
I'm pretty sure it does in the US, but in Canada?

No... a pistol is a pistol and a rifle is a rifle in Canada... laws dont care about stocks on pistols. I could technically put a 18" 5.56 barrel on it, with a full stock, etc and it's still classified as a pistol. Now, if I bring it to a range like that, I'll probably get told to GTFO ;)

The RRA lower is the same as a normal lower, I can add a normal stock to it no problems. That rear rail attachment is screwed in there... I checked :)

Nice dirt on those! Is it actual dirt?? If not, how did you manage to get it like that?? Cheers!

I get asked that a lot, and I guess that just means I did a good job! I was going for the "I dragged this behind my car down a gravel road" look.

I used the Krylon Camouflage green, brown, black, and tan spray paint from Crappy Tire (although another brand will work) and depressed the nozzle on them ever so slightly, so that the paint sputtered out in droplets rather than spraying out in a fine mist, and painted that way. I just kept changing the angle that I was sputtering paint at it, and did random coats over random coats and this is how it turned out. Don't even let the paint dry between coats; the worse your paint job is, the better it looks. Throw in some real life wear and tear to really mess it up, and I think it looks pretty good.

?? I'm confused. Why would you have to? Classified as a pistol or not, it's a restricted AR15... you should be able to attach a folding stock and just go to it. Not sure why you'd need to switch lowers. I'd love to buy that railed-stock-attachment piece (assuming it fits other AR lowers) and the upper from you to slap onto one of my existing lowers, though!

And I don't think putting a Beowulf upper, or any other upper, on the RRA "pistol" lower would legally be a problem either. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I'll play too.

Top - DD MK18
Left - QC10 Glock lwr/Vltor upper 9mm 7.5" barrel
Right - Aero "Ghost Gun" 7.5" barrel
Bottom - Omni Hybrid lwr/PSA upper in 7.62x39 10.5" barrel

One AR-15 one not so much

For your consideration an extremely limited, unavailable any longer NEA-15 with a 12" barrel:

< TRIGGER WARNING >

Admittedly this one isn't an AR-15, but it also happens to be non-restricted, so I'm going to post anyhow and will retreat if the semi-auto purists are revolted. (Update, at least one is.)

My somewhat pimped out Troy PAR:

Thanks to a number of forum sponsors (CSC, Nordic Marksman, Rampart) it's finally exactly where I want it. The Warden helps greatly with concussion vs the Warcomp underneath but does generate an impressive fireball.

The Docter on the Elcan OS is brand new and hasn't even been sighted in. Nice setup and altogether much cheaper than the 1-4 Elcan.

Going to Aervoe the hell out of it in the spring.

If others like the OP get their panties in a bunch I’ll remove. :p (Updated my first post to add an appropriate AR.)

Not jealous that I can leave this in the vehicle while I grab a beer on the way home from plinking are you? ;) Also, where's your shorty AR?

Included in case anyone didn't know about the joys of shorty NR AR wannabes.
