Anyone able to share any insight on the Superlite with fluted barrel and why it’s not available in Canada? It was available in the older T3 model a few years back for a short time. Is still available in T3x model south of the border with camo stock, but not up here. Seems to me it would fly of the shelves here with many folks wanting the lightweights. Any info appreciated as wanting to purchase a couple. Thx....northfork
 
because the Canadian distributor, Stoeger Canada, chooses not to import them. They have X amount of production allotted to them and decide to put more generic eggs in their basket to sell to Canadian dealers

Thanks M.....any idea if they have plans to bring them in for 2018?
 
The stainless hunter fluted I think is available in T3x in Canada. It’s a super lite in a wood stock. Sell the wood stock, amd put in factory Tupperware or whatever you like.

Yes custom stock regardless....where have you seen these for sale.

It would be nice to have the choice but a Tikka is a heavy recoiling rifle in the standard form. Any lighter and the 300 win mag would be brutal. In a more toned down caliber it would be nice to have if you like very light rifles. How much weight can they shave off their standard version? Can't be much the standard version has very little extra weight.

I think the difference with the fluting is around .25lb, but coming off the barrel to the muzzle significantly improves balance and is quite noticeable. I've owned unfluted Tikkas and always wondered why they were called "Lite".

Knock 4 ounces ounces off the metal weight and drop 4-8 ounces off by dropping in a Mcmillan or Wildcat stock, and it feels like trading a model 70 in for Kimber Montana!

No matter how much gym.... a lighter rifle stays lighter. I have had plenty T3 Lite but not a superlite yet. We'll have one on our stand at the IWA. Superlite + carbon stock + Spartan carbon bipod would be something nice for the hills.

That's funny. I go 3-5x a week to the gym. I just appreciate light rifles. The only shooting where I'm at is coyotes with a rifle, so they're light kicking guns. We walk a lot, and and breaking through crusted snow drifts has to be on par with walking up a mountain.

The lighter stock also feels about 1000x more rigid, durable and high quality than the Tupperware. This isn't even considered a light rifle, 5.5lbs then add scope, rings, sling and bipod and your still carrying 7-8lbs. Feels better than 10lbs.
 
I have a superlite in 300 win mag. It kicks but a limbsaver pad helps . Here it is along side it's big brother a Sako 75 in 300 WM also. The Tikka is considerably lighter than the Sako.
