I don't think that is real "Imperial" ammo. I believe it is import stuff. Years back, when I had a dealer licence, we used to get that stuff in. IIRC, it was run of the mill el cheapo stuff.
It probably would not have indicated distance in kilometers until the early 80's, when most of the imperial to metric changes came about. Curious no bilingual printing by then though?

The transition started sometime (?) in mid seventies but it was slow in coming and was not fully seen until you got into the 80's, as I remember it. But it gives him an idea of the era.
