Rarest Dan Wesson?

LOL, I should have known you'd be involved somehow Jeff. You're right, you should have bought it. - dan

I am usually lurking around, just did not want to give the guy the satisfaction of making 300 beans in 10 minutes,

I had a dan Wesson 357 super mag at the time and a MOA, ruger super Blackhawk 44, T/C with 6 barrels, EAB pistol in supermag I think, 1 xp100, 2 annies in rimfire

exemplar, a Wichita in silver, and some other neat stuff so I did not need it to compete with,

as they say those were the days, miss them but eyes are not what they used to be,

Jeff

I've been a member of the DW Forum for a number of years also, I actually posted some pics back when and nobody had seen any for sale for awhile as I recall. Mine has no gold inlay but there isn't a mark on her and she still has the Burris sticker on the scope. This hunter didn't come with extra barrels. Only one barrel and two shrouds, one scoped and bare and one with irons. It may not be Gucci but I love the mini samsonite case!

^ that looks good. Do you like shooting with the scope? I find it sure makes it heavy, but a lot more fun lobbing them at 50yds and 100yds. Here's my Dan with a scope on my 8" shroud

The barrels are not eather with the proper paper work, they are leaving , not coming in.
CBSA don't have to answer to anyone, maybe union leader?
I don't think I have ever seen a engraved one , sold couple pac's in the 80's, have not seen one since.
The shrouds are not illegal to ship, though. Send them through a courier.

Nice. I don't shoot the hunter....ever. I have another Dan with a 6" that is crazy accurate. Some of your weight issue might be the scope size. My God man, I've seen sniper scopes smaller than that!;)

That scope is kind huge, reminds me of a 2.5' s.s. ruger sec. six with a scope mount, I kid you not.
I have a 6 in D-w, fixed sights, but it doesn't have that nice rich blue, a 14 I think

Here's a quick picture of three DW's. From top to bottom: Mod. 15-2 .357 8" VH from 1985, Mod. 22 .22lr 6" VH from 1979 and my shooter, a '83 stainless Mod. 722 .22lr 6" VH. All are Monson manuf. in box with docs and tool. The 722 as seen a few thousand rounds, the other two are in new condition.

Sorry for reviving this thread but I'm still searching for an estimate on Hunter Pack values. I keep checking the US auctions and general online listings including a response from the DW Forum (nada) and it's pretty hard to base a price when you can't find another example! I know I don't have a one of a kind but this is nuts. Does anybody know anyone who has a DW Hunter in the Samsonite case???!
