Is there any source left for ammunition for the 7.5 Swiss revolver ammo? I've been looking at the Swiss 1882 revolver's but don't really want something I can never fire.
Thanks
Not a huge difference in price anymore. People have caught on. With a Swiss 1882, you get a highly refined and beautiful revolver that is impressively accurate and cheap to load for. Lead and brass is standard sized (.308-.312 dia bullets, 32-20 Starline brass) and easy to source. Powder lasts forever. It requires NO alterations(!) to fire 32 S&W Long ammo which is also easy to source. Though the straight walled 32 S&W Long brass does bulge a bit, it does not impact function. And if you think 100 grains of lead going ~965fps in a handload is weak, then fine, it's not a hand cannon. It will also throw store bought 72 grain 32 ACP FMJ bullets well above 1100 fps. Never judge this fine revolver based on the ill informed reviews that use the old, dirty and very anemic BP military cartridges (600-650 fps maybe on a good day!) or the standard store bought low powered 32 S&W Long (705-712 fps) there's way more potential through handloading. Having said that, I did find some punchy 32 S&W Long that produces 138 ft lbs of muzzle energy and apparently Buffalo Bore makes stuff in the 171 ft lb range! Have fun.
