BCL 102 Thoughts recieved My OG Saturday

Hello NO pics yet but

Picked up my 102 yesterday from Canada Post, couple of things off the start, looks good, i really like the dimpling on the mag catch and bolt release.
Here are my thoughts and trials.

I tried to replace the mag button with a Battle Arms did not work two things, the stock mag catch threading is longer than normal and the stock mag button is shorter to no evail it left a gap at the lower reciever and kept catching on the lower to release the mag. Switched back to factory.

The charging handle is a piece of work first thing i would do is switch it out, Ambi is on order and i ended up going to my shop and milled the upper to accept standard charging handles, I really dont think people should have to do this.

Dissasembled the BCG and whomever put it together smashed the firing pin retainig pin in place I had to borrow one of my AR spares to re assemble.

Installed a G SSA trigger
Installed Battle Arms Ambi Saftey
Installed Magpul Stock
Installed Scope

On order
BCG
Ambi charging handle
Adj Gas Block

load development in the new year and we will see.

I also milled and sand blasted a Magpul ASAP to fit the lower reciever next weekend im Cerekoting a bunch of stuff
I might put a add in the EE for this later
 
Yea it did not compute as to why the retaining pin wouldnt go back in, then i was like someone hammered it (literally) in when assembling it
 
Well my Raptor said on the package that it fit MOST AR10 platforms and with a beer's worth of filing, it fit perfectly.

Oh, by the way, mine was one of the two recent ODG, Black ones, man I like it. When I order another one it'll be in the same color combo.:dancingbanana:

Was it the regular ASAP for a hook or was it an ASAP QD. Looking at the two it seems the QD should fit no problem but the regular would need modification. I don't got my gun yet so just wondering

reg ASAP took some off both ears,
 
I put a Norgon mag catch in mine. The shaft is a bit short, but I think it's going to work fine.

Same issue with a difficult to reinstall FP retention pin. I just beveled/sharpened the pin a bit and shone a light in there to see what I was doing. I dislike those cotter pins in general.

The cam pin is rounded on these. Is that a departure from the gen 1?
 
anyone that has changed the handgaurd notice it takes a lot of force to even snug the nut down? i feel that normally the can be hand snugged all the way down then torqued to spec. the slr barrel nut needed a ratchet from about half way down.
