Sold a gun today, what’s the coolest thing I can buy for $1000

Ya, if it were me I'd want to check it out in person though. I've read alot about Marlin having poor quality in recent years (2007 Rem Freedom Group took over). Apparently newer ones are better, not sure what years got better. Of course, can't go wrong with the older marlins.

Not sure what else you'd want, vague post in the hunting area. I got a 44 rossi 92, it's decent for the price. Shouldve sprung for the winchester though myself, they're not as easy to find and more moolah.

Seems like the stainless guide gun almost always has a smoother action than the blued version, at least in the samples I’ve tried.

More of a hunter. I shoot IPSC too though. Already have a few 10/22's, a couple bolt .22's, a nice .17, a 223, a 243, a sks, a tikka 6.5x55, a .30 carbine, a 30-06, a pile of shotguns, a Dan Wesson 357, a Shadow 9mm, a few black powder guns, a H&R .44 mag and a few others I cant remember at the moment.

Are you a range rat or hunter?

Easy now, tiger. ...... My assumption was neither silly or biased.
It was the signature line, previous posts, coupled with that response to the firearm that too me showed a hint of bias, guess I shouldn't assume ;p. It was silly, how can you possibly say how much use anything would get. You don't know him, you don't know his interests in firearms, where or not he only shoots restricteds, been waiting 20 years for a decent mp5 fix, etc etc. I see a fair number sub gun pistols and various short barrels PCC quite at my local range. That outfitted with a proper stock would be a fun plinker. Different strokes for different folks.
