Ya, if it were me I'd want to check it out in person though. I've read alot about Marlin having poor quality in recent years (2007 Rem Freedom Group took over). Apparently newer ones are better, not sure what years got better. Of course, can't go wrong with the older marlins.
Not sure what else you'd want, vague post in the hunting area. I got a 44 rossi 92, it's decent for the price. Shouldve sprung for the winchester though myself, they're not as easy to find and more moolah.
That will get used a lot.
And you dont even have to stay at a Holiday Inn Express.
Go take a course in firearms maintenance or a survival course (wilderness) or put the wife or girl friend through a PAL course.
So many option ...
Rob
Are you a range rat or hunter?

It was the signature line, previous posts, coupled with that response to the firearm that too me showed a hint of bias, guess I shouldn't assume ;p. It was silly, how can you possibly say how much use anything would get. You don't know him, you don't know his interests in firearms, where or not he only shoots restricteds, been waiting 20 years for a decent mp5 fix, etc etc. I see a fair number sub gun pistols and various short barrels PCC quite at my local range. That outfitted with a proper stock would be a fun plinker. Different strokes for different folks.Easy now, tiger. ...... My assumption was neither silly or biased.
