BCL102 - No need to add water

Machining marks in the fluting? Who gives a rats azz? Does that make the rifle not work anymore? What does it affect? .

Are you serious ? ####ty workmanship on a 2K rifle is unacceptable, but yet the 102 fanboys get all bent out of shape when crap like that gets pointed out. Heck the chitty fluting job is a small issue compared to dust covers that arent even machined properly... LMFAO...The drop free bolt heads, the chewed up gas rings...lol....

a 600$ AR has better fit and finish than these 102's.

Milspec is just a word.

Like I posted in another thread, is there anyone here who is capable of identifying the min and max OD of a bolt carrier group, for an AR 102 according to milspec?

Can someone provide a link to the part of the milspec that talks about those tabs, and what level of ugly falls within milspec?

CH length, ear location, sizes, dimensions with min and max tolerance?

They produce a rifle - people whine. They address some of the whining - people continue to whine.

I get the legit issues (BCGs rough finish, etc)

A long while ago, I figured it out that Lego only fits with Lego. All other copies and aftermarket may or may not fit. With the number of manufacturers of there, I don't care what they are pedalling, and by what spec, some fit and finish items might take manual love.

But people want to be able to bolt up things with absolutely no need to use any brain matter or skills required. You might have to invest in good tools, otherwise.

I've purchased and received dented, scratched, damaged items from many manufacturers. I don't see the need to lose my mind. Contact them and correct it, life goes on. How many hands handled that item before you received it? But you know it is the manufacturers fault. You dust cover is bent? Boo hoo. Pick up the phone and get it sorted out.

Machining marks in the fluting? Who gives a rats azz? Does that make the rifle not work anymore? What does it affect? I didn't buy mine for shiny sh!t. I bought it to shoot. Otherwise I would have waited for the ultra high gloss OD green model, and made a nice velvet backlit showcase to display it in.

Now that I have had my coffee, I'm going to the dump, then going to go shoot my BCL 102, and whatever rifles and handguns we prefer, for the rest of the day, with my wife until we both feel of burnt gunpowder.
A perfect date.

That was well said, and sounds like a great date!

I'm just a newbie so please cut me some slack regarding my following question.
Is there censorship occurring in this thread? And if so, is there an audit trail like one might find in a reputable wiki? Not a big deal, simply curious.

Not here. But many critical posts of BCL have been removed from the SFRC forum, but it is their forum, so it is to be expected.

Also, there was a 40+ page thread called the "BCL102 Whining thread" which was locked. So the "whiners" have overflowed into other threads I suppose.

Business members like SFRC pay $2500/year to CGN for a "business account". The businesses are really the customers of CGN, the community is just the product.

So if you see criticism of any particular paying business member being removed, you can fathom a guess as to why.

How's yours running? I'm temped to buy one again.

I have literally never had a single stoppage with mine.
I bought it used off the EE for around $450 shipped. Just swapped the rear sight for a used M1A match set. Filed the front post to a nice narrow taper point. Had to index the barrel with a big ####ing pipe wrench and a bench vice. Shimmed the gas block. Had a Mat Tech buddy do 3 little tack welds to unify the gas system.
It came with a USGI wood stock and I bedded the action myself.
I can use the A1A Enfield mags to boot, so 10 rounds legal!
I can hit a 4' circular gong at the back 600 meters at my gun club with it using the irons and old bulk 7.62mm NATO FMJ ammo prone off my range bag (after we neon orange road painted it)
I've been shooting it for almost 9 years and have never had a single part fail, a single stoppage and it's incredibly accurate with very little time or money put into it. One of the all time best rifles I've ever owned period.

^ wait, irons? that's insane, keeper for sure.

I have several friends/witnesses on this site that have shot with me and witnessed it.
Consistently hit it as well.
I only shoot irons though and I have been shooting this same rifle for many years now.

I was hoping the 102 would have been done right. But I'm glad I stepped to the side now and stuck with the old M305.
Waiting patiently to see how the Macabee SLR comes out in the end now...

That's how i feel about my M305's, although I can't shoot as well as that and I have one little problem with an elongated hole for the mag release retention pin. Awesome platform, and great to shoot.

I only shoot 30 cal, so I am sitting on the side line watching he outcome of these BCL 102's, but I am not very impressed at what I am reading.

I Ordered a strip receiver set :), It just comes with a bunch of useless junk on it...lol... I knew exactly what I was getting. A project Gun thats NR and will come in under 8lbs.

I just love when the NEA fanboys defend the 102 and its ####ty parts...lol, Thats the most entertaining part of these 102 threads, right after the same old " guns are in paint excuse " lol...

I'm with you bud, we almost have the same parts except I went with a black slr adjustable gas block and a midwest rail.

I don't know yet what to do with the barrel, keep it toss it, dunno.

my gun has been at paint since november...
that's some paint job

4 foot across steel circle gong painted with high vis neon orange road paint keep in mind lol It's also properly bedded and unitized/shimmed.
That's 8 MOA approximate.
The thing with the M305 is the sights/rifle are calibrated to the 7.62mm NATO cartridge as long as you POI/POA zero (or file) the front post to bang on at 100 meters with the elevation dial at the 100 line. 10 clicks up from bottom, file front post until your POI is at exactly POA. Then unscrew the elevation sight screw, line up the 100 meter mark at the receiver line and re-tighten the screw. You will be amazed at what you can hit with properly calibrated sights.
Most people don't actually know how to use them properly.
Shoot any 7.62mm NATO ammo once this is accomplished and you can literally dial the sight to whatever distance your target is at and essentially hit it easily as long as you can see it.
That's where the 4 foot neon orange circle comes in handy ;) lol
Member Jon. has been with me several times when I have been shooting it as well as member LEFTOVER MAYO and SLANTO.
