Henry Lone Rangers ? anyone touched n shot

That is insane wood for a Henry rifle. Wow. I think the bluing on the blr’s looks better than on this new Henry. Deeper bluing

The wood looks nice on that one 308..but those MIM triggers look terrible on a $1000 rifle, receiver is pretty boxy, and that mag button...
Can't say I'd take one over a BLR.

The trigger looks like injection melded plastic, actually the color of the recieved looks the same, how much of these are plastic?

Are they blued or painted steel? The checking looks really nice, and the wood pretty great too though.

If Henry has a few options for these I can seem them selling well. A stainless .358 takedown would be the kittens mittens

Uhmmm... if you're comparing triggers.....pretty sure the blr trigger is mim and then gold plated not machined from solid stock. In either case it is a gold plated turd. The long ranger trigger is more comparable to the trigger on a single action revolver (very little creep and under 4 lbs out of the box - better than many bolt action triggers out of the box. The receiver may look squared off but is actually thinner than the BLR (about the same width as an 1895 marlin) and incorporates a more radiused profile. If you can make it down to your local gun shop and do a side by side comparison you might be surprised.

That being said, it's all a matter of personal taste and preferences. That's part of what makes the gun world awesome - lots of variety to satisfy all opinions and differences!

Criticizing the bluing and receiver finish may be a pretty valid point. It appears to be hard anodized aluminum. Trigger parts are steel but also black anodized or nitrided. A gloss black aluminum receiver (like a blr) and a higher polish level on the barrel, trigger, lever (the steel bits) would be a really nice aesthetic upgrade! My only other gripe is with the use of laser engraving rather than roll stamps for the serial and markings (just for the sake of tradition).

We will have to get some reports from the Accuracy in the .223 chambering.... I might just want one! I was originally thnkin like all do, big bore, but seeing as my son is a lefty aswell, using a 22mag now it wont be long an my 222 will get a work out, its a RH Sako A1, however the barrel will be shot out by the time he is using it, so this gives me something to think about now!
id be shooting Fox mostly, so it would need to be an inch accuracy wise. or better

no plastic at all.......these are anodized , seems as good if not nicer quality than my BLR's
